3 A.M. Tacos is a Mexican fast-food restaurant that Robert Robertson III and the rest of the Phoenix Program go to other they get into a fight with the Red Ring at The Sardine. Menu Tacos Burritos French Fries Soft Drink Trivia According to Invisigal, everything at the restaurant is a combination of the same ingredients. The place may not have very sanitary work conditions as Robert claims that he got diarrhea from their food. The Mumbai SDN is the Indian branch of the Superhero Dispatch Network. Normies appears to be a term that Supers use when referring to non-powered or "baseline" humans. The villain Toxic refers to Robert and the other members of Shroud's organization who don't naturally possess powers as normies and in the fifth episode, the term is again used by Flambae when he helps Robert as he's struggling to lift weights before criticizing him for being too reckless with his safety rightfully pointing out that normies need to more careful as they aren't as strong physically and can't take as much damage as most Supers naturally can. Interestingly in the same conversion Robert himself has the choice to openly refer to himself as such implying that "normie" isn't considered so much a cultural stigma but more as an official designation. Accelerated Healing is rapid recovery from wounds or injuries. Overview Accelerated Healing is a physical ability within the Dispatch universe, defined by the rapid recovery from wounds or injuries. Characters who possess this power are able to mend damage at a rate far beyond normal human capacity, often regaining full function in a fraction of the time it would ordinarily take. This ability is typically categorized alongside other physical enhancements such as durability, superhuman strength, and flight, forming part of the broader spectrum of powers documented in the setting. Notable users Blonde Blazer In the Dispatch universe, the afterlife is a mysterious, otherworldly dimension said to stretch across the multiverse, where the dead are believed to dwell. It’s also hinted that supernatural beings like demons inhabit this realm. Everything known about it comes from character dialogue—mostly from Malevola—and its true nature, layout, and purpose are left undefined in the official story. Overview In the story, the afterlife is portrayed more as a place of consequences than part of an organized religion. Malevola ties moral and social choices to what happens after death, even suggesting that marrying a billionaire results in eternal punishment. Her remarks connect wealth and corruption with damnation, though no clear belief system or cosmic structure is spelled out. Malevola makes a vague comment about Chase, hinting that if he were to die, he would be “taken care of.” The phrase isn’t clarified, leaving its meaning open—anything from personal action to some kind of mysterious or metaphysical outcome. Though she mentions Hell and punishment, Malevola considers herself an atheist. This contrast implies that in Dispatch, ideas like damnation can exist apart from traditional religion. Here, the afterlife serves more as a storytelling tool to highlight consequences, ambiguity, and symbolic themes rather than a strict theological belief. Inhabitants The afterlife is portrayed as inhabited, though few details are provided. Most information comes from Malevola’s dialogue, and no direct depictions of the realm or its residents appear in the series. Demons — The realm is implied to contain demonic entities. Their hierarchy, purpose, and relationship to mortals are not described. Malevola — Her familiarity with the afterlife suggests she may possess direct knowledge of or a connection to it, though this is not confirmed. Deceased Characters — Characters who die in the Dispatch universe are believed to transition to the afterlife, but no specific examples are shown. Unspecified Entities — Additional beings may exist within the realm, though none are identified. Trivia In Dispatch, the afterlife has never been shown visually, with all mentions coming solely through dialogue. Fans often point out that Malevola’s mix of atheism with mentions of Hell and punishment is a unique and defining trait of her character. The phrase “taken care of,” when referring to Chase, has sparked various interpretations among fans. In Dispatch, the afterlife is one of the rare metaphysical ideas presented more as a moral allegory than as a detailed, structured cosmology. Fans often talk about the mystery of the afterlife and how it helps drive home the story’s themes. The Assassin Organization is a group of assassins who have recently arrived in Torrance for unknown reasons. It's implied that Coupé is, or was, once a member of the group though she presumably left it after joining the Phoenix Program. If Coupé is the one to get cut from the team, then it will eventually be revealed that she is one of the targets that the assassins are tracking presumably because she knows too much. Known Members Formerly Coupé The Astral Pulse is an energy source used to power the Mecha Man armor. Inside it contains a Stellar Core which produce super energized plasma though the control fusion as source of power. History It is implied that Shroud, a former hero turned villain, was the source of Mecha Man Astral's Astral Pulse, during the time of the Brave Brigades. When Astral refused to allow Shroud to officially join the team, Shroud challenged Astral to a fight, proclaimed he was fully responsible for the creation of the Astral Pulse and demanded the Astral Pulse be returned to him. When Astral defeated Shroud, he shot Astral, then was captured. Shroud desired the Astral Pulse, though it is unclear whether or not he could have remade the Astral Pulse, considering that it was capable of supercharging him and his goons, or if he simply refused to out of principle, or if he was missing a component that was otherwise unavailable to him. He went about luring the current Mecha Man (Robert Robertson III) into a trap at a steel mill. This resulted in the destruction of the Mecha Man armor and the perceived loss of the Astral Pulse. However, Robert was hired by the SDN shortly after, and their chief engineer, Royd, is confident he can produce a new Astral Pulse along with repairing the Mecha Man armor. After Royd's latest attempt to recreate the Astral Pulse led to an explosion in the SDN lab that knocked out Robert for the better part of the day, Invisigal realized she'd seen the same type of explosion before. Connecting the dots, she realized the original Astral Pulse wasn't destroyed like Robert initially thought, but instead had been found but passed hands at least four times as each low-level criminal likewise ran into disastrous results trying to harness its power. The group was then able to trace its energy signature to a ship in one gang's territory. After Blonde Blazer denies the mission for it being too risky for a low branch like Torrance, Invisigal ignored this command and tried to locate it to help Robert. Astral Pulse's Origins There is a lot of speculations, theories and conflicting evidence to who created the Pulse as both Shroud and Mecha Man Astral have claimed to be one responsable for creation of the Astral Pulse. Mecha Man Astral While Mecha Man Astral is public known as the creator of Astral Pulse, however Robert Robertson could not find schematics for Astral Pulse among this father's blueprints. Shroud Shourd has strongest claim to be creator of the Astral Pulse, with some evidence to back it up. However, it appears that in the 15 years after killing Mecha Man Astral, Shrouds tried to recreate the Astral Pulse but apparently failed miserably, as the versions he made are either too big and bulky to plug into his head, like the Red Astral Pulse that powers his Spider Armor or lacking the immense power generating potency of the original. Collaborative Project Most likely truth is somewhere in the middle, that the Astral Pulse was collaborative project between Shroud and Mecha Man Astral. Shroud was the mind that came up with the Astral Pulse, the Science Nerd who did all the science and math, he understands the theory behind the Pulse, but its Mecha Man Astral that was the Gear Head that brought the engineering skills, material knowledge and the "secret sauce" to make the idea and schematic into a real thing. Also, in the way Royd was explaining the Astral Pulse to Robert outlines how it is in truth two incredible technologies working together. Which means that while Shroud has knowledge on one subject, he lacks the knowledge on the other subject and require know about that. Versions Proto Pulse In attempt to recreate the Astral Pulse after it was lost, Royd and Robert work together to create another Astral Pulse, prototypes named "Proto Pulse." Up until Shroud's defeat, at least 19 versions of the Proto Pulse exist, none which have successfully powered the Mecha Man mecha suit without malfunctioning. They are distinguished from the Astral Pulse by their imperfect helices as oppose to the Astral Pulse which has 2 perfect helices. Shroud's Astral Pulse A red colored/glowing Astral Pulse, Shroud's attempt to recreate the Astral Pulse. Spider Mecha Astral Pulse The Spider Mecha Astral Pulse is an Astral Pulse that powers Shroud's Spider Mecha. Unlike the other Astral Pulses, this one is large and bulky but produce the immense power generating potency of the original. Pain Immunity is resistance or indifference to physical pain. Overview Pain Immunity is a physical-class ability within the Dispatch universe. It is defined as resistance or indifference to physical pain, allowing the user to endure harmful stimuli without experiencing the usual discomfort or incapacitation. While the power does not prevent injury or damage, it removes the limiting factor of pain perception, enabling sustained action in situations that would otherwise overwhelm or disable a person. The ability is categorized under physical powers due to its direct impact on bodily resilience rather than external manipulation or energy-based effects. Pain Immunity is distinct from regenerative or defensive abilities, as it does not heal wounds or provide protection against harm. Instead, it alters the user’s sensory experience, granting them the capacity to function normally despite injuries. Notable users of Pain Immunity include Punch Up, who exemplifies the practical application of this ability in combat scenarios. By negating the influence of pain, such individuals can maintain focus, strength, and endurance even under extreme conditions. This makes Pain Immunity a valuable trait for those engaged in prolonged physical confrontations or hazardous environments. Notable users Punch Up Phenomaman's team are the highest ranking and best superhero team of the Downtown Los Angeles branch of the Superhero Dispatch Network. Phenomaman was later removed from the team by the Downtown branch after he slipped into a deep depression and was unable to continue generating positive results after Blonde Blazer dumped him. Members Current Members Pom Pom Sweetalker Brickhouse Equilibrium Brainbook Former Members Phenomaman The Phoenix Program, also known as the Z-Team, is a special rehabilitation program run by the Superhero Dispatch Network where conscripted criminals, anti-heroes, and vigilantes sign up to help out SDN subscribers in the hopes of becoming heroes. History At SDN, eight former villains were chosen from those who signed up and placed on the Z-Team. However, owing to the team's less than welcoming approach to every dispatcher assigned to them, such as Flambae setting one dispatcher's car on fire, they tend to quit in droves. As a result of this and less than optimal results, the program is on the verge of being shut down. A few days into Robert becoming the team's newest dispatcher, Blonde Blazer makes the tough decision to let go of the lowest achieving member of the team at the end of the day. This results in the field agents sabotaging each other to stay ahead and a resulting conference meeting where Robert tells them off for getting in each other's way after this, they cooperate except for Invisigal who refuses all dispatches due to her beliefs of fating intertwined with powers one is born with. Miraculously, after Robert encourages her, she had a last-minute encounter with Lightningstruck and managed to capture and bring in the criminal, nudging her up on the leaderboard. However, this now meant there was a tie for the bottom: Coupé and Sonar. As a result, one of them was let go. As this then left the team short-staffed, Blonde Blazer then put forward two possible candidates to fill the slot: Waterboy, who was a hero in training, or Phenomaman, a superhero who was on indefinite leave from his own branch as he wasn't taking his break-up with Blonde Blazer very well. After a bar fight at a villain bar, the field agents bring up the question of who Robert is, and the player chooses whether Robert hides or reveal hide his identity. If Robert reveals it, Flambae will attempt to incinerate him for their past history before the other member stops him. Afterwards, other than Flambae in the choice to reveal as he had fled, they go around sharing their real names as a sign of trust. Later, Invisigal sets up a housewarming party at Robert's apartment to organize how to steal back the Astral Pulse, but the party comes to a stop when Invisigal and Chase argue about the other's reputation and she punches him. If the player chose to have Robert reveal his identity earlier, Chase will mention it during the argument, shocking every member except Flambae who comes late. After Invisigal decided to steal back the Astral Pulse by herself which led to Chase's hospitalization, the other Z-Team members held a meeting in which the majority of them felt that Invisigirl's actions were reckless and put the team's credibility at risk. Excluding Golem, the members want Invisigal to be cut from the team. Flambae will side with Invisigal if Robert revealed he is Mecha Man, and Phenomaman will abstain if he is recruited. Robert either decides to honor their request and permanently remove Invisigal from the team or refuse and continue her temporary suspension. During the final dispatch, the high number of calls leads Robert into convincing the hero he didn't recruit earlier, Phenomaman or Waterboy, into joining the team. It is also revealed that whoever was cut, Coupé or Sonar, turned back into being a super villain and joined the Red Ring. During the final stage of the dispatch, if one mission's probability check fails, the probability ball automatically moves back into the area of success to reveal Blonde Blazer helping that call and joining the roster. When the Red Ring approach Torrance SDN HQ, the Z-Team fights against the lower henchmen, but has trouble against Shroud's mecha suit. Shroud's mecha suit punches Blonde Blazer into the building, and that allows her to give her amulet to Chase as a way to throw off Shroud and his predictions. That change in plan allows the Z-Team to defeat Shroud's robot, but not him, as he manages to his hands on Beef to force Robert into giving the Astral Pulse. If Robert didn't support Invisigal enough, she kills Shroud, turns back into a villain and goes missing in action. Otherwise, she takes Shroud's bullet, causing Robert to attack Shroud in rage, giving him the decision to spare or kill Shroud; Invisigal is applauded by the team for her courageous act. Additionally, if Robert successfully defeats Coupé or Sonar in the final dispatch, he can choose to either forgive them and have them rejoin the team or choose to let the police arrest them. If Robert doesn't defeat Coupé or Sonar, Blonde Blazer will tell Robert not to waste any more time on them, and they will be arrested. The Brave Brigades are a group of superheroes who were operating in the city of Torrance fifteen years ago. Known members included Robert "Robbie" Robertson II, Shroud, and Track Star. The group eventually fell apart after one of the members, Shroud, turned rogue and betrayed and killed Robert Robertson II. Another member, Track Star, also eventually had to step down from public service as a hero after he discovered that his powers was rapidly causing him to physically age to the point where he is now an old man. It's unknown if the group is still active or if they ended up disbanding entirely. History Known members Robert "Robbie" Robertson II † Vitalia Track Star (formerly) Shroud (formerly, unofficial member) Ch'aad, often misnamed Chad by outsiders, is a god or demon worshiped by the Cult of Ch'aad, an aggressive group that has recently started establishing themselves in Torrance. Biography Not much is known about Ch'aad's past, but it’s hinted that he has some sort of rivalry with Malevola. At one point, his cult established a chapter in Torrance, and several members went on to cause multiple problems that the Torrance branch of the Superhero Dispatch Network had to handle. Most notably, the group abducted several people with the intent to perform ritualistic murders, believing this would somehow summon Ch'aad to Earth. Personality Since he is never depicted in person, little is known about Ch'aad's personality. However, the willingness of his cult to sacrifice people in his name suggests he is likely a power-hungry and sadistic deity who craves blood sacrifices. The Cult of Ch'aad, is a new age religious movement who have recently arrived in Torrance for unknown reasons. According to Blonde Blazer, the group is trying to summon a god or demon to Earth named Ch'aad (jokingly referred to as Chad by outsiders) presumably so that he can enslave humanity. Malevola, being a demon herself, has some knowledge of the group making her the perfect hero to deal with them. Screech Coin is a white-collar scam that was orchestrated by Sonar when he attempted to rob the SDN blind. Two of their most notable heroes (at least in California) are Phenomaman and Blonde Blazer. The SDN's Phoenix Program reforms villains to work as heroes for hire under their banner. Chase recruited Robert Robertson to serve as Team Z's handler for the Phoenix Program. In exchange, Royd and the SDN promise to restore the Mecha Man armor. Subscription According to Blonde Blazer's lines in the Dispatch Phone ARG there are two levels of subscription for an individual who wishes to subscribe to SDN "Basic" and "Deluxe" Basic: One Time payment of $29.99 Deluxe: One Time payment of $39.99 There are possibly different levels of subscriptions for organizations hoping to subscribe to SDN given that it is not solely just private citizens that subscribe/ use the service, but also by public services such the Torrance PD, Fire Department, and the mayoral office. Mailroom Human Resources Accounting IT Department Security Administration Supers, or Supes (an unofficial name), is a fan-created term used to categorize and classify the different communities of individuals in Dispatch who are known to possess extraordinary powers and abilities. Overview The heroes and villains of the Dispatch universe hail from a mix of sci-fi, fantasy, and other fantastical worlds, all considered part of everyday life. Phenomaman is a human-alien hybrid, while Lana is a distinctly non-human-looking alien from a far-off galaxy who works at SDN. Punch Up got his super-strength from a sorceress, Malevola is a half-demon with teleportation powers, and others like Invisigal seem to have been born with their abilities. In the Dispatch universe, society plays a big role in deciding how different abilities are seen, often long before the people with them have a say. Instead of treating powers as neutral, the public tends to judge them based on how they look, work, or fit into familiar heroic stories. Flashy, dramatic abilities often get tied to heroism because they match cultural ideas about visibility, spectacle, and inspiration. On the flip side, powers that are hidden, subtle, or disruptive tend to draw suspicion, as if secrecy or misuse is part of their nature. This means people are labeled as heroes, threats, or oddities more for appearances than actions. In the end, society often mistakes the image of heroism for the real thing, favoring those whose powers fit the ideal while pushing aside those who challenge the story. Urgot-52dc is the home world of Phenomaman. Mecha Man armor Edit Mecha Man Armor MKIII MKII MKI MKIII Type Mech Effects Combat and mobility armaments. Source Bobby Robertson I The Mecha Man armor is a cutting-edge combat vehicle piloted by Robert Robertston III who used it in his hero work. It was originally designed by the first Mecha Man, Bobby Robertson, fifty years ago. Following his death, it was handed down to Robert's father, Robbie Roberston, before eventually coming into his possession. Capabilities MKI Little is currently known about the MKI Mecha Man armor's capabilities, only that it lay the framework and foundations of future iterations of Mecha Man armor. MKII Astral Pulse Astral Pulse* An ingeniously designed energy cell that powers the entire suit using a highly advanced fusion reactor. Mecha Man jet boosters Jet Boosters* Boosters on the back of the armor that allow for quick bursts of movement or suspended flight over long distances. Mecha Man plasma blade Plasma Gauntlet* Mounted on the left forearm is a gauntlet that generates plasma weapons from electricity. The Mecha Man armor can use this to fire disk shaped projectiles or project a plasma blade. Mecha Man's Shield Shield Mounted on the right forearm is a circular shield that can instantly retract from a gauntlet to a full circle and vice versa. Mecha Man barrier Barrier An orb-shaped energy barrier with limited protection. It's integrity can be compromised if it takes too much fire. Mecha Man Net Launcher Net Launcher Mounted launchers on the back, it fires two grenades that deploy as collapsible capture nets. MKIII Jet Boosters In the MKIII, in addition to the original boosters on the back of the armor, there are also boosters on the back of the legs. Twin Blades Twin Energy Blades With the new upgrades by Royd, Robert can now deploy two plasma blades instead of one. Missile Fury Missile Fury The MKlll Mecha Man Armour now has an upgraded missile system Cluster Bombs Cluster Bombs The MKlll Mecha Man Armour houses a supply of cluster bombs in its back assembly Plasma Net Plasma Net Introduced in the MKIII, the Plasma Net is an upgraded version of the Net Launcher. It can be destroyed by laser weaponry. Energy Shield Plasma Shield An upgraded version of the shield featured in the MKII. It is able to defend against threats without damage to its integrity, including an augmented Coupé/Sonar. Plasma Saber Plasma Saber Likely a one-handed version of the Plasma Blade/Twin Blades, this is a detachable saber introduced in the MKIII. Plasma Gauntlet Plasma Gauntlet Much like the MKII, the MKIII can fire disk-shaped projectiles that slice through surfaces like a saw blade. Get Over Here Get Over Here! An attack that revolves around using a new grappling hook added to the MKlll Mecha man to pull an enemy into a melee finisher, followed by a powerful punch crackling with electricity, likely connected to Astral Pulse energy. Super Spirit Bomb Super Spirit Bomb A combination attack involving a barrage of missiles followed by a large energy beam likely related to Astral Pulse energy. Introduced in the MKIII. * - Exists in both MKII and MKIII, albeit MKIII versions are upgraded in some form. Gallery Trivia The MKIII armor's finishing moves, as well as their names, are references to other media, namely the Mortal Kombat videogames (Get Over Here is Scorpion's special move) and the Dragon Ball manga/anime saga (the Super Spirit Bomb debuting in Dragon Ball Z). Mecha Man is considered one of the first and most prominent non-powered heroes still in activity. The MKII armor worn by Mecha Man Astral appears to be a variant of Robert’s MKII, with a design that closely mirrors the MKIII. Robert III’s MKII is likely another variant, upgraded, maintained, and repaired using much of his inheritance after it was passed down to him after Astral's death.
