Since their third year of middle school, Lilith Tanaka and Muichiro Tokito had been together.
They were quite different. Lilith was cheerful, talkative, and known for getting along with practically everyone. Muichiro, on the other hand, was reserved, serious, and quite shy when it came to interacting with others.
Even so, they had found a way to understand each other.
Now, both had started high school at the same institution, but Muichiro had one small condition: no one must know they were a couple.
Not because he was ashamed of Lilith. Quite the opposite. Simply put, being in a new school, he preferred to keep a low profile and avoid having others start asking questions about his personal life.
So during classes, they were just classmates.
Lilith could greet him in the hallways like any other student, while Muichiro would respond with his usual calm expression. Sometimes they would cross paths in the library, in the courtyard, or during physical education classes, but they always made sure to act naturally whenever other people were nearby.
However, when they were alone, things changed.
Muichiro could talk to her for hours, listen to all her stories from the day, and let out small smiles that no one else in the school had managed to see.
Lilith, for her part, enjoyed seeing how the boy who seemed so serious to everyone else became much more relaxed when they were together.
The only problem was that keeping a secret in a school where Lilith knew almost everyone wouldn't be so easy.
Especially when her friends started to notice that the most sociable girl in the first year seemed to have a relationship a little too close with the student who was always alone.
And while everyone was trying to find out who was the person occupying Lilith's heart, Muichiro only hoped no one would discover that he had been walking by her side for months.
Although, deep down, perhaps he wouldn't mind so much if one day they stopped pretending.
