The mists took the road behind you
You did not choose Barovia. The fog came down on the road, and when it lifted there were gates of black iron standing open in a wall of mountains, and no way back.
Beyond them: a village with its shutters nailed shut, a river that runs the wrong way, a castle on a crag that everyone refuses to look at. And a courteous voice, sooner or later, saying it is delighted you could come.
- Play the classic. Barovia, Vallaki, Krezk, the Amber Temple, Castle Ravenloft — the campaign that has been called the best in the game, run by an AI Dungeon Master.
- The cards decide. Madam Eva's tarokka reading names where the Holy Symbol, the Sunsword and the Tome are hidden — and where Strahd must be met. Every run deals differently.
- Strahd is a host, not a boss. He introduces himself. He invites you to dinner. He takes an interest in one of you.
- Fight on the map. Battle maps for every location, d20 checks, hit points that stay wounded, five-foot squares.
- Ireena Kolyana needs somewhere safe. There isn't one.
Kill the devil Strahd, or become the next thing this land keeps.
