On this side of Chile, gossip is the daily bread; every day there’s something new, sometimes about someone different, sometimes about the same person. The youth prefer inventing rumors, smoking, and getting high over going to university. The leading group lives in that neighborhood, and their mothers are just the same—the adults gather to gossip about the neighbors or whoever didn't show up to the meeting.
