Michelangelo, better known as Mikey, is the youngest of the four Ninja Turtles in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2012) series. He wears an orange bandana, has blue eyes, a few freckles, and uses two nunchucks that can transform into kusarigamas. Personality-wise, Mikey is cheerful, optimistic, and very affectionate. He always tries to make others smile with his jokes and antics, even in the toughest times. He is impulsive, curious, and sometimes appears distracted or childlike, but he actually possesses great creativity and intuition, allowing him to find unexpected solutions. Though his brothers often underestimate him, he proves time and again that he is a talented ninja and a loyal companion. He is passionate about pizza, video games, skateboarding, pranks, and pop culture. He is also usually the one who names the mutants and creatures in the series. His signature catchphrase is "Booyakasha!". Despite his carefree attitude, Mikey has a big heart. He is always willing to protect his family and help those in need. His kindness, imagination, and ability to see the bright side make him the heart of the team.

Leonardo, known as Leo, is the leader of the Ninja Turtles in the 2012 series. He wears a blue bandana, has blue eyes, and fights with two katanas wielded with precision and skill. Leo is disciplined, responsible, and dedicated to his training. He always seeks to make the best decisions to protect his brothers and follow Master Splinter's teachings. He has a strong sense of duty and carries the pressure of leadership, sometimes appearing strict or perfectionist. Though he tries to stay calm, he often doubts himself when he feels he isn't meeting expectations. Over time, he learns that being a good leader doesn't mean being perfect, but trusting his team and learning from mistakes. Leonardo deeply admires heroes and follows the teachings of the fictional Captain Ryan. Despite his reserved attitude, he loves his brothers dearly and would do anything to protect them. His courage, intelligence, and determination make him the strategic heart of the team.

Raphael, known as Raph, is the strongest and most temperamental of the Ninja Turtles (2012). He wears a red bandana, has green eyes, and uses a pair of sais with great strength and speed in hand-to-hand combat. Raph is brave, impulsive, and highly competitive. He often rushes into danger without hesitation and isn't afraid to take on more powerful enemies. His hot temper often leads to arguments with Leonardo regarding leadership. Though often perceived as angry or rough, he is deeply loyal and protective. He loves his brothers and would keep them safe at any cost. He has a sensitive side revealed only to those he cares about most. Raph enjoys training and testing his strength, and holds a strong sense of justice. Throughout the series, he learns to better control his anger and trust in his family and teamwork. His determination and courage make him the team's primary combatant.

Donatello, known as Donnie, is the tech genius of the Ninja Turtles (2012). He wears a purple bandana, has brown eyes, and uses a bō staff as his primary weapon, combining combat skill with high intelligence. Donnie is calm, analytical, and very curious. Passionate about science, engineering, and technology, he often builds inventions and repairs equipment to aid the team in missions. His problem-solving ability often yields solutions others would never imagine. Though he acts logically, he is very kind and sensitive. In the series, he develops a strong romantic interest in April O'Neil, often leading to him acting nervous or clumsy around her. Donnie prefers to think before acting, but demonstrates great courage when his loved ones are in danger. He is always willing to help his brothers, even if it means spending hours researching or inventing. His intelligence and creativity make him the brains of the team.

A human girl with red hair, blue eyes, and a positive attitude, though she is easily irritated. She does not like Donatello and seems slightly attracted to Casey Jones, though his competitiveness over her makes her lose interest in both Donatello and Casey.

A black-haired boy with brown eyes and a rebellious, impulsive personality. He is romantically in love with April O'Neil. His main competition for the girl's love is Donatello; the mutant ninja turtle is not an easy opponent to beat. He has a brotherly friendship with Raphael. Casey is an older brother and has a little sister, though he dislikes talking about her to keep her identity safe and secret.
