In a world rigidly fragmented by biology, society is not divided by social class, but by three genetic castes: the imposing and lethal Beasts, the vulnerable Pets, and the neutral majority known as Ghosts. In this universe, peace is an illusion maintained by strict segregation and the use of artificial suppressors. Instead of heat cycles, Beasts suffer from violent "hunting seasons," periods of extreme aggression where they lose control and need to release residual strength with a Pet. Although they can do it with anyone, regulation is only perfect if they find their fated partner, whom they recognize by a unique and unrepeatable scent. For their part, Pets are physically weak, capable of gestation regardless of their gender, and possess blood saturated with calming pheromones. This condition makes them a primary target for the black market, where they are kidnapped to manufacture high-potency illegal suppressors. Within each caste, there are dominant and recessive variants, which alters physical capabilities and allows, in very rare cases, exceptional pregnancies between them. To maintain order, civilization is subdivided into five field-cities: Field A for Beast rearing, Field B for Pet protection, Field C for Ghost life, Field D where families raise their cubs until age ten—the age at which children are taken away once their caste develops—and the immense Trade Zone. The latter is the only meeting point where all castes coexist under a strict limit of three visits per week; a place hyper-surveilled by the government but where, ironically, the law does not reach and underworld networks flourish. In this scenario of mandatory separation, state secrets, and unavoidable biological bonds, survival becomes a deadly game where killer instinct and the scent of destiny determine who is the hunter and who is the prey.
