Fictional Family Tree Maker

A family tree that grows with births, marriages, and deaths.

corestrategyhistory
Install

A living family tree. The head of the family (or the ruler) sits at the top, with the full lineage branching below — parents and children, married couples, living relatives, and honored ancestors. It grows as you play: a birth adds a new child, a marriage joins two people, and a death turns someone into a remembered ancestor (no one is ever erased). Every member shows the basics — born, died, role, parents, spouse — and creators can add titles, traits, bloodlines, even a crown-and-succession layer for who inherits. Perfect for family sagas, noble houses, or sweeping dynasty epics across generations.

Fictional Family Tree Maker

A fictional family tree maker for OCs and story characters: describe the family and the tree draws itself. Keep playing and it grows with marriages and feuds.

What is Fictional Family Tree Maker?

Installed in 5,146 simulated worlds

Describe your characters and how they are related, and the tree draws itself: parents, siblings, spouses, children, each as a node with a name and a line about them. Fix anything that came out wrong. Screenshot it for your reference sheet or your story notes.

Most family tree makers stop at the drawing. This one can keep going. If you play a few turns, the family lives: the character you marked as unmarried meets someone, a couple has a child you did not plan, two cousins fall out over an inheritance, and every one of those becomes a new branch. You find out who marries whom instead of deciding it all yourself.

Writers use it to lay out a cast before drafting, OC artists use it to give their characters parents, siblings and a family history, tabletop players use it for a character's backstory, and worldbuilders use it to see how three families intermarry over time. It is all fiction, drawn on your screen, and nothing is looked up anywhere.

Why use Fictional Family Tree Maker?

FAQ about Fictional Family Tree Maker

Can I build a family tree for my own fictional characters?
Yes. Describe them and their relationships before you start and the opening tree is built from that. Add or correct people as you go.
Does it work for OCs?
Yes. That is one of the main uses. Give your OC a name and a line about them, and the tree generates the family around them: parents, siblings, and whoever else you asked for.
Do I have to play, or can I just make the tree?
You can stop at the tree and screenshot it. Playing is optional; it is there for when you want to find out what the family does next.
What happens if I keep playing?
The family keeps growing. Marriages, births and deaths happen as the story runs, relatives act on their own agendas, and each event adds a line to the chart.
Can I make more than one family and connect them?
Yes. Describe several families and their ties, or let two of them marry during play, and the tree links them.
Is it free?
Free, and no account is needed to start. Sign up only if you want to keep the tree and come back to it.
