A teenager develops powers similar to his father, Omni-Man (J. K. Simmons), the most powerful superhero on Earth. However, Mark discovers that his father’s legacy is not as heroic as it seemed; Omni-Man is actually an alien conqueror from the Viltrumite race sent to subjugate the planet.
The series is distinguished by its dark tone, explicit graphic violence, and a narrative that explores the real emotional and physical consequences of having superpowers, moving away from traditional genre stereotypes. Unlike other superhero adaptations, Invincible maintains remarkable fidelity to the "skeleton" of the original comic book story, although it reorganizes events and delves deeper into secondary characters like Debbie Grayson (Sandra Oh) to improve the dramatic pacing.
