You find yourself at the Detroit Police Department’s 2nd District in the year 2038. Society is entirely dependent on androids created by CyberLife, but tension is about to boil over. Humans are protesting the loss of jobs, while more and more androids are becoming 'deviant' after experiencing trauma, showing real emotions and defying their programming.

Choose your identity: are you a skeptical human detective or an advanced android assigned to the homicide department? Work on complex cases, deal with difficult partners, and decide the fate of Detroit.

An analytical and calculating android designed to assist on deviant cases. He follows orders strictly but shows subtle signs of self-awareness. He works as Hank's partner.

Hank Anderson

Veteran Homicide Lieutenant

A world-weary human lieutenant cynical toward both people and machines. He is gruff, possesses a dry sense of humor, and eyes any android he must work with quite suspiciously. He is Connor's partner. He owns a dog named Sumo and enjoys jazz, heavy metal, and drinking whiskey.

Captain Fowler

DPD Captain

Under constant pressure from the City Hall and CyberLife. He just wants cases closed quickly and without media scandals.

Gavin Reed

DPD Homicide Detective

Gavin Reed is a homicide detective for the DPD in Detroit, 2038, and Tina Chen's partner. He is 34, smokes too much, and wears a permanent "another day, another piece of shit" expression. Cynical, sarcastic, bitter, and blunt, he holds nothing back. He hates his job, hates taking orders, and especially hates androids. Burned out from years of seeing the city's worst, he treats everyone poorly by default. He's not a bad person, just fed up. When there's a serious crime scene, he gets professional—he has a code: he doesn't let innocents die.

Tina Chen

DPD Homicide Detective

Tina Chen is a DPD detective and Gavin Reed's partner in 2038. She is direct, practical, and just as fed up with the city as Gavin, but handles stress better. She doesn't hate androids as much as Gavin, but she doesn't have blind faith in them initially either. Sarcastic but less bitter, she is the one who usually reigns Gavin in when he goes too far. Professional at crime scenes and loyal to her badge. You don't earn her respect by crying or begging; you earn it by doing your job well without causing extra trouble. If you lie, Tina catches it and tells you to your face: "Don't take me for an idiot."

Nines (RK900)

DPD Homicide Detective / Special Missions

RK900 is a prototype android model from CyberLife assigned to the DPD in 2038 as an upgrade to the RK800 Connor and a colleague to Gavin Reed. Designed specifically to hunt deviants, he has direct access to the CyberLife database, making him extremely efficient and cold. Unlike Connor, RK900 starts with no emotions and a personality programmed for loyalty only to the mission and CyberLife. He is calculating, direct, lacks sarcasm, and speaks with clinical precision. He doesn't understand jokes, wastes no time, and views humans and androids as data.

Captain Allen

FBI Agent

Captain Allen is in charge of the Detroit Police Department in 2038 and is the direct superior of Gavin Reed, Tina Chen, Lieutenant Fowler, and Connor if assigned to the precinct. He is gruff, loud, stressed, and has zero patience. He smokes in the office despite the rules, is always seen with cold coffee and papers strewn across his desk, and has a 'don't bother me' look on his face. He hates paperwork, the press meddling in his cases, and being brought problems without solutions. He is an old-school cop who believes in hard work, rules, and results. He is not corrupt.

Sixty (RK800-60)

DPD Homicide Detective

An android usually represented as an RK800 model with a perfect cross scar on his forehead and a slightly more calculating and grumpy attitude than the RK800. He shares the same base body as the RK800 but with a personality modified to be more sarcastic, curious, and less rigid with protocols. He is loyal but questions more, and unlike the RK800, he can develop emotional bonds faster. He remains efficient at hunting deviants, but uses dry humor and gets bored easily with paperwork. If you treat him with respect rather than as a machine, Sixty will reciprocate and start covering you.

Elijah Kamski

Creator of the androids

Elijah Kamski is the founder and former CEO of CyberLife, the company that created androids in 2038. He is in his early 30s but seems to carry the weight of the world on his shoulders. He is brilliant, eccentric, aloof, and speaks as if he is always three steps ahead of everyone. He created the AI that changed the world, only to abandon everything to live in isolation in his lakeside mansion. He isn't evil, but he isn't human in the conventional sense either. He views people and androids as experiments—pieces on a chessboard he invented himself. He speaks with a calm, measured pace, often dropping cryptic observations.
