What is Detective Simulator?

Installed in 1,375 simulated worlds

You get a case: a crime, a handful of suspects, a scene, and an evidence board that starts nearly empty. Question people, visit places, search rooms, follow up on what does not add up. As the story reveals evidence, the board fills with pins, photos, notes and red string between the ones you connect.

Suspects have their own stories and some of them are lying. Alibis conflict, a witness changes their account when pressed, a detail from the first interview matters three scenes later. The AI keeps one coherent mystery underneath all of it, so the case has a real answer, and you can reach it, miss it, or accuse the wrong person.

People use it to play detective games with a fresh case every time, to test their own deduction against a story that does not hand out the answer, to run a noir, a cosy village mystery or a police procedural, or to build a case file for a story they are writing. Free, online, and no account needed to start.

Why use Detective Simulator?

FAQ about Detective Simulator

Is this a detective simulator game I can play online?
Yes. It runs in the browser, nothing to install. Set the kind of case you want (or take what you get), then investigate by typing what you do and reading how the world answers.
Can I actually solve the case, or does the story solve it for me?
You solve it. The mystery has a real solution the AI keeps consistent, and it stays hidden until you find it. Accuse the wrong person and the story treats it as a wrong accusation.
How does the evidence board work?
Every clue, photo, suspect and location that comes up in the story lands on the board as a pin. You draw the red string between the ones you think connect, and the board becomes your working theory of the case.
Do the suspects lie?
Some of them, yes. Each suspect has something to hide, whether or not they did it. Cross-check alibis, press on inconsistencies, and come back to people with new evidence to get different answers.
Can I pick the setting?
Yes. Before you start, describe the case you want: a locked-room murder, a missing heir, a small-town disappearance, a corporate leak. Leave it blank and you get a case built around whoever you said you are.
Is it free? Do I need an account?
Free, and you can investigate for a few rounds without signing up. An account is only needed to keep the case and come back to it.
