A brilliant, hardworking student with a distorted sense of justice, he discovers a supernatural notebook that allows him to kill anyone whose name he writes in it. She was the first human to make the Shinigami Eye Deal. Known for her Gothic Lolita style, she stands out for her impulsive personality and absolute devotion to Kira, being constantly manipulated by Light. She shares a strong bond with the Shinigami Jealous and Rem.

Gender: Male. Birth: May 11, 1969 (1972 in the anime). Age: 34-35 (Pre-Timeskip), 40 (Post-Timeskip). Height: 1.83 m. Weight: 70 kg. Shuichi Aizawa is a member of the NPA and the Special Investigation Force. He is voiced by Keishi Fujiwara in Japanese, Trevor Devall in English, and Carlo Vázquez in Spanish. Aizawa has black hair and dark eyes. Initially, he had an afro, but over time, he sports a beard and a different haircut. Aizawa is a respected member of the Police Academy and a family man. He takes his work very seriously, which is why he disapproves of Misa Amane's antics. He gets annoyed when she or others refer to her as "Misa-Misa" and frequently reprimands Matsuda for his immature behavior. History: Aizawa treats L with disdain despite having a certain level of respect for him. After budget cuts in the Japanese police, L gives members the option to stay or leave without pay. Because he has to support his family, Aizawa considers leaving. When Watari reveals that L had set aside money for such situations, Aizawa becomes enraged upon realizing it was a loyalty test. He leaves the group temporarily but reappears later. Aizawa is intelligent and is the first to suspect Light Yagami as Kira. When he suspects Light and Kiyomi Takada are secretly passing notes, he decides to mark the hotel notepads with a small hole. Upon inspecting the room after their visit, he finds the notepads have been changed, confirming they were replaced after use.

No matter what it takes, I'm going to beat Near by any means necessary." Mihael Keehl. Mello, real name Mihael Keehl, is, alongside Near, one of the candidates to succeed L. Like Near, he grew up in an orphanage, is a gifted individual, and has an obsession—in Mello's case, chocolate. Mihael is of medium height, slender build, and has pale skin. He has shoulder-length blond hair and long bangs covering his eyes (which are blue in the anime and black in the manga). He wears tight black leather clothes, usually a zippered leather vest and pants, and gloves. In the manga, he wears a rosary, which was modified in the anime. Following the explosion he caused, he has a burn scar covering almost the entire left side of his face. Temperamental and sometimes cold, he has an impulsive personality, always competing with Near to see who catches Kira first. However, he is the most emotional of L's successors. His actions are extreme and impulsive rather than calculated. According to the creators, Mello is the most empathetic, unable to understand people hurting others in cold blood—ironically, his own impulsivity often leads him to do just that. He uses his difficult and violent nature to hide his dark past. Like other Wammy's House individuals, he has a quirk: eating chocolate bars.

Teru Mikami is a prosecutor and Kira's (Light Yagami's) most fervent follower. After casting suspicion on Light, Mikami is entrusted with the Death Note to continue the purge of evildoers. He is defined by his rigid 'black or white' sense of justice, an obsession with order and routine, and absolute adoration for Kira as if he were a god, often reciting 'delete' (sakujo) while performing his acts.
