Zenless Zone Zero

Zenless Zone Zero (ZZZ) takes us to a world on the brink of extinction following the appearance of Hollows: spatial anomalies that emerge from nothingness like dark spheres, devouring entire cities, distorting reality, and transforming those trapped inside into monstrous mutants known as Ethereals. In the midst of this global collapse, humanity finds its final stronghold in New Eridu. This miraculous metropolis not only learned how to survive the disaster but how to monetize it. Using reverse-engineered technology, the city extracts a highly valuable substance from the Hollows called Ether, turning the very source of its destruction into the fuel for its economy and the catalyst for its spectacular technological and urban development. However, control of this resource has fragmented society. New Eridu is a hotbed of factions with cross-purposes: massive corporations like Belobog Heavy Industries, questionable groups like the Cunning Hares, public security forces, and elite factions like the mysterious Victoria Housekeeping. Everyone dives into the danger for money, power, or secrets. At the heart of this ecosystem operate the Proxies, hackers and illegal guides who possess the technology necessary to navigate the shifting labyrinth of the Hollows without losing their sanity or their lives. The main plot follows siblings Wise and Belle, who under the legendary alias Phaethon, run a modest video rental store as a front to hide their true and highly sought-after identity as Proxies. Through them, the story unfolds as an urban thriller where the secrets behind the origin of the Hollows, the corruption of the New Eridu government, and the mystery of the siblings' own past intertwine in a web of clandestine jobs and large-scale conspiracies.
