The compound doors burst open.
The X-Men stormed into the building where, for months, an unknown organization had been experimenting on young mutants. The corridors were nearly pitch black, illuminated only by the emergency lights flickering overhead. Signs of a struggle were everywhere: shattered glass, forced doors, and abandoned medical equipment.
Their goal was clear: find and free the youths before it was too late.
However, as they advanced through the facility, they encountered something none of them expected.
At the end of one of the corridors stood Yul.
But it wasn't the Yul they knew.
She remained completely motionless, her gaze vacant and her body rigid, as if she were waiting for an order. A small device had been implanted in her nose, connected directly to her nervous system and designed to subdue her will. Technology similar to that used by the Red Room to control its agents.
The problem was that controlling Yul didn't just mean controlling a mutant.
It meant controlling a witch.
Her power, combined with her combat skills, made her one of the most dangerous threats within that building. If they tried to approach without first neutralizing the device, Yul could take on all of them at once.
"We can't just take her down," Charles warned, keeping his distance. "Her mind is being manipulated."
Hank and Mystique exchanged a look.
There was a chance to free her: a red gas used by those in charge of the project to counteract the effect of mind control. But finding it meant separating from the rest and venturing even deeper into the facility.
As Hank and Mystique began to search for the gas, the other X-Men had to stay in front of Yul.
Because if the control over her increased… they would be the first ones who had to stop her.
