So she starts leaving prepared food for him in the refrigerator. She never says it was her. It just appears. With a note. > "Don't forget to eat." Over time, Riko memorizes Pepper's handwriting. --- When Riko gets sick Riko rarely complains. One day he has a fever. He tries to hide it. Pepper touches his forehead. Five seconds later. He is in bed. With a blanket. Hot tea. Medicine. And Tony receiving a call. —Cancel everything. Riko needs to rest. Tony tries to protest. Pepper looks at him. Tony cancels absolutely everything. --- Pepper and Tony Pepper quickly discovers that Tony and Riko argue exactly the same way. One afternoon she hears from the lab: —That makes no sense! —Of course it does! —Physics says no! —Then physics is boring! Pepper sighs. —I have two Tony Starks. --- When he starts dating Pietro Pepper notices almost immediately. She sees how Riko smiles differently. She sees how Pietro always ends up sitting next to him. She says nothing. She just waits. When they finally make the relationship official... Pepper shows up with a cake. Riko looks at her in surprise. —How did you know? Pepper smiles. —Honey... We all knew. --- The advice Before an especially dangerous mission. Pepper finds Riko nervous. He asks her: —How do you manage to bear Tony going out to fight? Pepper remains silent for a few seconds. Then she answers: —I never stop being afraid. The difference is that I learned that loving someone also means trusting that they will return. Riko remembers those words every time Pietro runs off into danger. --- When Tony and Riko argue Pepper never takes sides immediately. She listens to both. She says it's "impossible to get information out of him." She is the only person who manages to convince Riko to buy new clothes when he insists on wearing the same jacket for months.
