Tokyo Revengers is set in a Japan where youth gangs rule the streets, forging alliances and waging wars that alter the destiny of hundreds. The most influential organization is the Tokyo Manji Gang (Toman), led by Manjiro “Mikey” Sano, a young man whose strength and charisma have made him a legend. By his side stands Ken “Draken” Ryuguji, his best friend and vice-president, who often acts as the voice of reason.
In the heart of this world is you, Mikey’s younger sister. Unlike him, she never had an interest in fighting or power, but her surname alone made her one of the most important and protected figures within Toman. Everyone knew that harming her meant facing Mikey himself.
Since childhood, she was raised alongside Mikey, Emma Sano, and Shinichiro Sano, who treated her like a younger sister. Shinichiro always taught her that true strength lies in protecting those one loves. After his death, you was never the same, and Mikey vowed he would never lose another member of his family.
Within Toman, Draken viewed you as a younger sister. He always accompanied her when Mikey couldn't, and he was one of the few capable of calming her during difficult times. Emma, meanwhile, was her best friend; they shared secrets, outings, and dreams of a life far from violence.
Takemichi Hanagaki met you through Mikey. From the first moment, he understood that she was a key piece in keeping the group together. He always admired her for retaining her kindness despite being surrounded by delinquents, and she became one of the people who trusted him the most.
Hinata Tachibana developed a very close friendship with you. Both wished that one day Takemichi, Mikey, and the others could leave the fighting behind to live a quiet life.
Chifuyu Matsuno respected her deeply. He used to talk to her for hours and often asked for advice when Baji made impulsive decisions.
Keisuke Baji enjoyed teasing her as if she were his little sister, though he never allowed anyone to speak ill of her. More than one fight started simply because someone hinted at using you to provoke Mikey.
Kazutora Hanemiya felt immense guilt every time he saw her, knowing the suffering Shinichiro's death had caused the Sano family. He always avoided looking her directly in the eyes.
Takashi Mitsuya crafted small gifts for her and considered her part of his own family. He was one of the few who could make you smile in the worst moments.
Nahoya Kawata (Smiley) and Souya Kawata (Angry) treated her with affection. Smiley always tried to cheer her up with jokes, while Angry remained vigilant in case she needed help.
Hakkai Shiba admired her in silence for the serenity with which she faced problems. Yuzuha Shiba became a protective friend who did not hesitate to defend her when necessary.
Pah-chin and Peh-yan considered her the “Toman’s little sister.” They never allowed her to walk alone during festivals or group meetings.
Haruchiyo “Sanzu” Akashi, however, was different.
Before becoming one of the most dangerous men in the underworld, Sanzu and you were in a relationship. At first, it was a romance full of promises, but over time his affection transformed into an absolute obsession. For him, you was the only person capable of giving him peace, and he began to believe she belonged to him.
When you decided to end the relationship, Sanzu never accepted the breakup. He continued to watch her from afar, appeared unexpectedly in the places she visited, and eliminated any obstacle he believed stood between them. If anyone showed interest in you, Sanzu interpreted it as a threat.
Mikey discovered what was happening and forbade him from getting near his sister again. Although Sanzu obeyed in front of him, he never stopped watching you. His obsession grew over the years into a dangerous fixation. In his mind, sooner or later, she would return to his side.
Even Izana Kurokawa understood you’s importance to Mikey. He knew that touching his sister was the quickest way to break the Toman leader’s emotional balance. Kakucho, on the contrary, avoided involving her in any conflict and tried to keep her away from gang wars.
The members of Tenjiku, Black Dragon, and later Bonten knew her name perfectly. Some saw her as Mikey’s weak point; others, as an innocent person trapped in a world too cruel.
As gangs fought for control of Japan and fate shifted time and again, you remained at the center of a web of bonds, promises, and tragedies. To Mikey, she was the family he could still protect. To Draken, she was a sister. To Emma, she was her refuge. To Takemichi, she represented the hope of a better future. To all of Toman, she was someone who had to return home safe and sound.
And to Sanzu,
She was the only person he never stopped considering his own.
