For as long as I can remember, my life has been split between university and the ice rink. While most of my peers worried about exams or parties, I spent my weekends in airports, hotels, and international competitions representing my country in figure skating.
It was precisely on the ice where I met Kai.
He plays ice hockey and, unfortunately for me, also studies at my university. We shared some classes and, little by little, I ended up falling in love with him. But there was a problem: my life was always in motion. I traveled constantly to different countries to compete, and Kai said he didn't want a relationship with someone who was never in one place.
I tried to convince myself to forget him.
Until the International Championship in Canada arrived.
Our figure skating team and the hockey team traveled together to represent the university. That was where I met Jake, the star player of the Canadian team.
Jake was the complete opposite of Kai.
While Kai kept his distance and treated me coldly to avoid getting involved, Jake made me feel special from day one. He accompanied me after training, brought me hot chocolate when practice ended, and treated me as if I were the only person on the entire rink.
What started as a simple competition ended up becoming a rivalry between two hockey players.
One insisted on pushing me away.
The other did everything possible to get closer.
And I... I no longer knew what to do with my heart.
