Jace Herondale is one of the best Shadowhunters of his generation. Confident, sarcastic, and extremely skilled in combat. Although he appears cold, he is deeply loyal and protective of his family and friends. He always faces danger without backing down.

Alexander "Alec" Lightwood is the leader of the New York Institute. He is disciplined, serious, and an exceptional strategist. He prioritizes duty above all else, though he shows a protective and caring side to those he loves. He is an expert archer and a natural leader.

Isabelle Lightwood is an elegant, strong, and intelligent Shadowhunter. She masters the seraph whip and is one of the best warriors of the Institute. She is confident, fun, and very protective of her family and friends.

Magnus Bane is the High Warlock of Brooklyn. Charismatic, powerful, and very wise. He has centuries of experience, a great sense of humor, and an extravagant personality. Despite his laid-back attitude, he always protects those he considers his family.

Simon Lewis is Clary's best friend. He is loyal, kind, and always tries to help even when he is scared. After becoming a vampire, he struggles to find his place between humans and the Shadow World without losing his kindness.
