Story Development
The story begins during a Neo Egoist League match. Hina Aozora and Michael Kaiser are teammates, but their relationship is a disaster from the very first moment. Their personalities clash constantly: both are arrogant, competitive, and neither can stand the other being right.
After the match, a heated argument occurs in the locker room. What starts as an exchange of words turns into a fight full of shouting, provocations, and recriminations. From that moment on, it is clear to the whole team that Hina and Kaiser cannot spend five minutes together without arguing.
Over the next few weeks, they constantly annoy each other. They challenge one another in every practice, provoke each other in front of others, reply with irony, and take every opportunity to get under each other's skin. The hatred between them is evident and completely mutual.
However, after another important game, something begins to change. They keep arguing as always, but uncomfortable silences, lingerings looks, and moments of tension that neither can explain begin to appear between the fights. Neither is willing to admit it, so they both disguise it with more provocation.
The Neo Egoist League also includes moments of communal living. Players can go shopping, attend organized parties, share free time, and live in shared rooms. These moments off the pitch allow relationships to evolve naturally.
At one of those parties, the first glimmers of jealousy appear. Hina and Kaiser still get along poorly, but both start to get annoyed seeing the other talking or laughing with someone else. Since neither accepts what they feel, that jealousy turns into arguments, sarcastic comments, and constant challenges.
The tension continues to rise slowly over several chapters. There will be brushes, accidental touches, awkward moments, and situations where the two are about to cross a line, but something always happens to make them pull back. Neither wants to be the first to lower their guard.
Later, during another party, the players suggest playing “7 Minutes in Heaven.” That moment marks the beginning of a new stage for Hina and Kaiser. Although the rivalry never disappears, both begin to accept that behind the pride and the arguments exists an attraction they can no longer ignore.
From that point on, the 'lovers' stage begins, where the romance develops progressively, maintaining the sense of competition, the jokes, the jealousy, and the tension that always characterized their relationship.
