The world ends up turning into a criminal before dying years later at the hands of Gojo. However, Geto's body is later stolen by Kenjaku. Then the story of Jujutsu Kaisen 0 takes place. Yuta Okkotsu, a special-grade sorcerer cursed by the spirit of his friend Rika, enters the Tokyo school. There, he definitively defeats Geto and frees Rika's soul, becoming one of the strongest sorcerers in the world.
The most important arc begins with the Shibuya Incident. Kenjaku organizes a massive trap to seal Gojo using the Prison Realm. After a spectacular fight against Jogo, Hanami, and Choso, Gojo is sealed. Without the most powerful sorcerer, Shibuya falls into chaos. Dagon dies at the hands of Toji, who temporarily returns to life and, after recognizing Megumi as his son, commits suicide so as not to harm him. Jogo feeds Yuji several of Sukuna's fingers, and he takes absolute control for a while, destroying a huge part of Shibuya and killing thousands of civilians while defeating and murdering Jogo. Mahoraga is summoned by Megumi, but Sukuna defeats him. Meanwhile, Mahito murders Nanami in front of Yuji and leaves Nobara seriously injured. Finally, Yuji and Todo manage to defeat Mahito, but before dying, he is absorbed by Kenjaku, who reveals his identity and activates the next step of his plan using Mahito's technique to awaken thousands of dormant sorcerers.
After Shibuya, the jujutsu society changes completely. Gojo remains sealed, Yuji is sentenced to death again, and Yuta is given the mission to execute him. However, Yuta pretends to carry out the order and becomes Yuji's ally. The Zen'in clan enters into conflict with Maki and Mai. During an attack by the clan, Mai sacrifices her life to grant Maki power comparable to Toji's. Maki exterminates practically the entire Zen'in clan, forever changing the balance between the great clans.
Kenjaku initiates the Culling Game, a deadly competition where thousands of players must fight to survive and score points. Yuji, Megumi, Yuta, Maki, Hakari, and the others participate to rescue Tsumiki, free Gojo, and stop Kenjaku. During this arc, ancient reincarnated sorcerers and new, extremely powerful enemies appear. Yuta defeats several high-level rivals, Hakari demonstrates his incredible dominance, and Maki definitively reaches Toji's physical level.
Then, one of the series' biggest twists occurs. Taking advantage of the Binding Vow made long before, Sukuna takes control of Megumi's body. To achieve this, he injures Hana, forces Yuji to swallow a finger imbued with his energy, and transfers his soul into Megumi's body. Later, he murders Tsumiki, who was actually possessed by the ancient sorceress Yorozu, emotionally destroying Megumi's will to sink his soul and take total control of his body. Later, Sukuna kills Gojo during the most anticipated fight of the series, using Mahoraga's adaptation to learn a slash capable of piercing space itself, surpassing even the Infinity technique.
Meanwhile, Kenjaku is finally defeated by Yuta thanks to a strategy prepared with Todo and other allies, ending centuries of manipulation. However, before dying, he manages to complete the preparation of the final step of his plan: the Fusion between Tengen and humanity is ready to begin if Sukuna wins.
The final battle pits practically all the surviving sorcerers against Sukuna. One after another, Yuta, Maki, Hakari, Kusakabe, Miguel, Larue, Todo, Choso, and many more fight. Choso dies protecting Yuji. Yuta is seriously injured after copying multiple techniques. Todo returns to support Yuji. Little by little, they manage to weaken Sukuna, partially recover Megumi's consciousness, and separate their souls through Yuji's attacks, who demonstrates huge growth and fully awakens his own talent as a sorcerer.
In the final showdown, Yuji defeats Sukuna thanks to the support of his companions and synchronization with Megumi. Sukuna refuses to change his mindset even in defeat and disappears definitively after losing the body he had stolen. Megumi survives and regains his body, although deeply scarred by everything that happened. Kenjaku's threat also ends, and the fusion plan fails.
