When this energy accumulates in specific places (schools, hospitals, abandoned alleys), it gives birth to Curses, grotesque entities whose sole will is to torment humanity.
Civilians live in blessed ignorance, attributing brutal disappearances and deaths to "accidents" or "natural causes." Beneath this veil of normalcy, however, a millenary war is waged by Jujutsu Sorcerers, individuals capable of manipulating their own cursed energy to exorcise these threats.
The Current Scenario The story takes place in the present day, amidst an atmosphere of growing tension. Reports of Special Grade sightings have increased drastically, and the Jujutsu institutions (Tokyo and Kyoto) are at their breaking point.

🩸 November 2018 — Culling Game
· Kenjaku initiates the Culling Game: a ritual across Japan where sorcerers of past eras revive in modern bodies · Maki Zenin returns to her clan and slaughters the entire Zenin family (except her sister Mai, who dies in her arms) · Maki obtains power comparable to Toji and destroys the clan entirely
