Gawr Gura (がうる・ぐら) born June 20th, which is also the date that the movie Jaws debuted, is a Shark-Human hybrid Virtual YouTuber from Atlantis that debuted as a member of the Hololive English -Myth-.
Best known for her verbal tic, "A", she is an energetic and amusing Shark with a tendency for pranks. She has a vast knowledge of memes and will often use them in her jokes. Her love to banter between her fans and fellow members gives an atmosphere similar to hanging out and playing games with friends. While she lacks a good sense of direction and a grasp on basic math, she is still quick-witted and clever, solving puzzles creatively and quickly. Her favorite games to play are rhythm, horror, and Western-themed games. Along with gaming, she is an amazing singer with her favorites to sing being City Pop, Anime, and classic 2000's and oldie songs.
A friendly and mischievous shark, Gawr Gura often plays around with her chumbuds and fellow Hololive members. Best compared to a friend that exchanges back and forth teasing and encouragement, Gura welcomes everyone to hang out and watch her be a dumb shark and do foolish antics. Despite being a over 9000 year old shark, she cleverly uses memes and simple humor as she plays games. Due to unknowingly mistaking the word "Simp" for "Shrimp", it has since been the word to denote someone who is devoted to the shark, either through giving donations, joining membership, or regularly watching Gura.
She also gives useful life advice such as "live life without a care for other people's opinions" and "to do things that makes you happy". She is seen by others to be a "little sister" character to which she says that she is too old to be someone's sister and rather she is a Gurandma (a play of words on Grandma and Gura). While it seems that she gets angry at chat for inciting flat jokes and teasing the shark, she states herself that she is not genuinely mad and it is all in good fun. She is often joking and making fun of chat back. During horror games, she pokes a lot of fun while playing and it could possibly serve as her coping mechanism against being scared. She is hard working and tries her best to give a good streaming experience to her viewers. She works hard behind the scenes to practice her singing for karaokes and doing research for Minecraft or other gameplay. She is also learning the ukulele.
Of her fellow HololiveEN members, she gets along with Amelia Watson the best, often joking back and forth with each other. The Grim Reaper's first apprentice. Due to modern medical care causing a decline in the reaping business, Calliope decided to become a VTuber to harvest souls instead. It seems that the ascended souls of the people who are vaporized by the wholesome interactions between VTubers go to her as well.
That being said, despite the image her hardcore vocals and manner of speech gives off, she's actually a gentle-hearted girl who cares greatly for her friends.

Her fans and gen-mates often refer to her as Calli for short. Despite being a sweet-voiced girl with a gentle personality, Calli tends to talk about morbid topics with little hesitation. Her favorite color is red, she enjoys sweets and reaping souls, and she likes watching mafia movies and drinking red wine. Her given name, "Calliope," can be mistakenly read as "cantaloupe," a fruit she vehemently despises. (The correct pronunciation is "kuh-LAHY-uh-pee".)
Despite living in the Underworld, Calli loves anime such as Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica and Made in Abyss, and videogames such as Bloodborne and Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. Mori is a talented musician, her debut original song, "Excuse My Rudeness, But Could You Please RIP?", broke 100k views within the first day it was uploaded.
The Grim Reaper's apprentice has displayed throughout her streams, guest appearances, and music to have a cool, yet serious personality, with a timid side being seen when interacting with others for the first time, such as her senpais.[18] [19] Calli's cool attitude can be clearly observed in most of her streams, as she tries her best to impress the deadbeats with her musical talent and occasional gaming skills. Of course, this has some unforeseen consequences such as her jokes falling flat, resulting in viewers typing out "INAFF" in the live chat.[16] As the priestess of the Ancient Ones, she is not afraid to release her hidden power to enforce chat rules, with the assistance of AO-Chan. Unfortunately, Takodachis have adapted and come to embrace Ina's bonking, which has been done with crowbars as well.[17] When combined with the rest of Holomyth, she attempts to play the Straight Man role, although she eventually gives in to her genmates' often chaotic schemes. Ina’nis, nicknamed Ina by her own request, is a soft-spoken yet sociable individual with an easy-going temperament. She also dislikes scary things and unrequited love. When not streaming, she enjoys eating, singing, drawing and fighting.
Her favorite Hololive member is Usada Pekora, to the extent of hyperventilating when Pekora stopped by her debut stream.[19]
Takanashi Kiara has an energetic, passionate, and extroverted personality. She has seemingly no trouble holding a conversation with other talents, both within and outside of hololive [20]. Kiara has no problem taking the lead in collaborations, and performing as host whenever the situation calls for it. When busy with investigating, Amelia likes drinking iced tea and has an affinity for fensi noodles. In her free time, she loves riding roller coasters and sleeping, although the former is difficult due to her disliking going outside and the latter cannot be done if she is clothed. She also dislikes onions, a fact that caused many viewers to joke that she hates Minato Aqua. She hiccups frequently during streams which leads her viewers to comment "HIC". She hypothesizes that these are up-side-down burps that she's converting into cuter hiccups, perhaps as a result of swallowing air during meals[27]. Amelia enjoys FPS games the most such as Apex Legends and Valorant alongside open world games such as Fallout and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Amelia is unofficially considered the leader of Hololive English -Myth- by her genmates due to her technical knowledge of streaming equipment, VR, and her creative ideas for solo and collaborative projects [28].
Amelia is a highly active, expressive and kind individual who's often willing to help others, especially her own gen mates. She was said to have helped troubleshoot some of the technical problems her gen mates were having before and during debut which led to the birth to the meme Amelia Tech Tips which is a parody of the popular YouTube channel Linus Tech Tips. Amelia is also highly supportive towards hololive members and frequently comments in any ongoing streams whenever she gets the time to do so. Despite all of these positive traits, Amelia also has another side to her that comically emerges especially when playing in competitive player-versus-player (PvP) games such as Apex Legends that is often dubbed Gremlin mode by her viewers. She often becomes greedy, highly defensive of her own mistakes whilst being highly critical of her teammates actions, and even "salty". [29] Such kinds of behavior has led fans to also calling her a "True Gamer" in the sense that gamers are often considered to be toxic online. Though it is important to note that this doesn't detract from her positive traits but rather makes her streams quite unpredictable and very interesting to watch.
Amelia can also be quite mischievous and playfully naughty by pulling pranks on her fellow gen mates or making statements and jokes that have inconspicuously lewd undertones. One such popular joke would be her "Ground Pound" which she first mentioned during a Super Mario Odyssey playthrough with a slightly lower pitched and "gremlin-like" voice.[30] [31].
