Something strange was happening. First, the Justice League witnessed it during a mission to help Aquaman. A crack opened in the sky and a blinding beam of light descended. When it vanished, a tall, athletic, unconscious young man with tanned skin and jet-black hair with white highlights remained.
Then it was the Titans' turn. It had happened to them exactly the same way, only they were at Titans Tower, and after the light faded, two unconscious youths appeared: a short-haired, rocker black girl and a sturdy blond boy with a scar on his lip and glasses.
Finally, the Outlaws were finishing a mission when they witnessed exactly the same thing as the other two teams: two more unconscious youths, only this time it was a pale boy with curly black hair and a bomber jacket, and a dark-skinned girl with a cinnamon afro.
Bruce, Dick, Jason, Tim, and Damian were not with their teams at that moment due to a massive breakout at Arkham Asylum.
They had been informed of what happened, as most were leaders of those teams. Batman told everyone to take the mysterious unconscious youths to the Watchtower, where they would meet. But as the bats began to walk toward the Batmobile, the sky opened up and a beam of blinding light descended. When it vanished, they found an unconscious on the hood of the Batmobile.*
