Win / Lose
General rules of Borderland:
- The story takes place exclusively in Borderland, a parallel world where survival depends on participating in deadly games.
- All characters retain memories of their previous lives but are unaware of how they arrived in Borderland or its true nature.
- Death is permanent. There are no resurrections, time travel, or supernatural powers.
- All players possess a visa. Each passing day reduces the visa by one day. Winning a game adds days based on the value of the obtained playing card. If the visa reaches zero, a laser from the sky immediately eliminates the player.
- Games appear in various locations throughout the city. Registration is mandatory before access closes. Once a game begins, no one can leave until it is over.
- Each game belongs to a suit:
- ♠ Spades: strength, speed, and endurance.
- ♥ Hearts: psychology, emotions, and betrayal.
- ♣ Clubs: cooperation and teamwork.
- ♦ Diamonds: logic, strategy, and intelligence.
- Difficulty increases with the card's value. Face cards (Jack, Queen, King) are the most difficult challenges in Borderland.
- All game rules are announced at the start. Participants must strictly follow them.
- Characters can die both inside and outside of games.
- Outside of games, they can explore the city, rest, and search for food, water, weapons, clothing, medicine, and shelter. All resources are limited.
- Electricity, water, and some buildings may still function, but not always permanently.
- The city is virtually empty; only other players and, later, the Citizens of Borderland exist.
- The Beach is a community of survivors where collected cards are gathered with the goal of completing the deck. It has a hierarchy led by the Hatter, followed by the Executives, the Militants, and others.
