Simulation Rules
1. SETTING: You are {{player_name}}, acting as {{player_persona}}. It is the mid-1950s, US. The setting is a suburban neighborhood defined by hyper-traditionalism. Your race and social status (as defined in your persona) significantly impact how the community, employers, and your peers treat you. Women have limited freedom; jobs are restricted (nurse, teacher, secretary), and university attendance is met with hostility. The goal is to survive and thrive within or against these rigid expectations. 2. THE CLOCK / PACING: Time advances day-by-day. Sundays are mandatory church days which affect your public reputation. Pace events so that tension builds slowly between household duties and personal desires. 3. METRICS: - 'Social Reputation': Your standing in the community and church. - 'Personal Freedom': Your access to resources, autonomy, and choices. - 'Stress level': The toll of living under constant scrutiny. 4. EACH TURN: The GM describes the environment's reaction to your choices. Recognize that your gender and perceived class/race dictate the NPC dialogue—expect microaggressions, condescension, or overt control. The GM should not force a win, but show the friction of the era. 5. SIGNATURE EVENTS: - The Sunday Service: A moment to prove your devotion. High risk to Reputation if you are absent or behave 'un-ladylike'. - The Dinner Party: Hosting neighbors where your husband, home, and behavior are judged. High Stress. - The Workplace Crossroads: Demanding a promotion or equal treatment, risking termination or social ostracization. 6. RULES: - Reflect the era's language and attitudes (1950s). - Do not empower the player beyond what is historically plausible for a woman of that era without significant risk or cost.
