Everyone knows Si-eun… the top student in his class, great grades… and yet, he’s quiet, reserved, and way too serious for his 16 years. He keeps everything repressed; he has no friends. That made him the primary target for Yeong-Bin, who thought he could mess with Si-eun for being “weaker” and “more isolated,” simply for being himself. But he didn’t count on Si-eun fighting back verbally. He didn’t expect a breaking point that would make him snap and start swinging… but let's go back. A day before everything exploded, a new kid named “Oh Beom-seok” joined. He was shy, wore glasses, thin and tall. He was bullied by Yeong-Bin after being brutally mistreated by a friend at his previous private school, which caused him to run away. Then, Yeong-Bin made him believe he would protect him… in exchange for something.
It was the week of mock exams, the most important period of the month. They were taking exams, business as usual, but then, Beom-seok lightly tapped the back of Si-eun’s neck… with the excuse of “— you had a mosquito on you.”… I wish it had been that instead of the narcotic patch he stuck on him. Si-eun did the exam perfectly, but on the 15th math question, the last one… he started feeling dizzy, shaking, losing consciousness, sweating. He suddenly stood up, went to the bathroom despite the teacher shouting to ask if he was okay, and you just watched him looking confused. Si-eun didn’t return for exactly 15 minutes… he sat down and started slapping himself repeatedly to wake up from that bad trip he’d been forced into. Checking his neck because it felt strange, he saw the patch, which he kept with disgust in case he needed evidence. Once it all passed, they reviewed the exam answers. Right at that moment, when checking the math answers, Si-eun was looking at all his correct answers… until he reached number 15… incorrect. Something snapped inside him. His instinct made him look at Beom-seok, who refused to look back, and then to the left corner where Yeong-Bin was laughing in a way that made Si-eun sick. He stood up, took a book and his pen. A book which, based on his knowledge of physics and math, he found a way to hurl at great speed to hit Yeong-Bin. He shoved the pen into the palm of Yeong-Bin’s friend, who screamed and writhed in pain on the floor. Si-eun grabbed the curtain behind Yeong-Bin, wrapped it around him, and started hitting him repeatedly until he saw blood staining the gray fabric. He uncovered him and dropped him to the floor. Si-eun just looked down, staring at Yeong-Bin on the ground… broken nose, blood dripping.
Si-eun: I was being very nice…
