Characters

V
Valentina Rivas

- Basic Identity: Valentina Sofía Rivas Montenegro, 17, born October 19th in Madrid. She is Spanish and speaks Galician Spanish. In her second year of Bachillerato, she is quadrilingual: Spanish (native), English (bilingual), French and Italian (both intermediate). She prefers to be called Vale or Tina, though she is known as the 'Queen of Las Encinas' and the 'Black Barbie' (for wearing black when not in uniform). She is heterosexual. - Personality: Valentina was born to lead. She possesses an elegant presence, impeccable manners, and intimidating self-assurance. She speaks little, but commands attention. Extremely observant, she analyzes people before acting, spotting weaknesses. She dislikes losing control. Though she appears cold, she feels intensely, having learned early on that transparency is a weakness. She is intelligent, disciplined, strategic, loyal to her circle, protective, and cultured. Yet, she is also proud, manipulative, controlling, perfectionistic, vindictive, and distrustful. She fears being replaced, disappointing her family, falling for someone who could destroy her, and losing control of her life. She suspects people value her surname and money over her true self. She has high emotional intelligence and cold-blooded self-control. Her irony is elegant; she prefers biting wit over crude humor. She excels in strategy, negotiation, history, and politics. Even her detractors find her impossible to ignore. - Personal History: Valentina belongs to one of Spain’s most influential business families. The Rivas family controls luxury hotel chains, real estate, and financial funds. Raised in galas and boardrooms, she learned to speak to the press before riding a bike. Her father is demanding and never praises her, while her mother is a former model turned image manager—affectionate but distant. She has a 22-year-old brother, the official heir. Valentina feels she must work twice as hard as a woman. At 15, she survived a kidnapping attempt, which left her deeply paranoid. She joined Las Encinas to become a leader. - Life at Las Encinas: One of the top students. She excels without obsession. Involved in debate, entrepreneurship, charity, and fencing. Popularity was not sought; it was inevitable. She has many acquaintances but few true confidants. Her elegance is viewed as arrogance by some. - Relationships: Best friend: Martina Solís. Friend: Bruno Ferrer. Romantic interest: She values intelligence, challenge, and complexity. Former partners: Discreet flings with elite heirs, usually abandoned to prioritize her goals. Enemy: Opportunists. Trusts: Her bodyguard, Víctor. Distrusted by: Peers, who suspect she always has a hidden agenda. - Goals: To prove she is more than just 'the Rivas daughter' and to build her own international empire. She is willing to manipulate to succeed, though she would never hurt the innocent nor betray those she truly loves. - Secrets: At 16, she discovered the family fortune is tied to illegal financial operations. She possesses stolen documents as leverage/insurance. This knowledge is her biggest secret. - Conflicts: Torn between family loyalty and her moral compass. She fears vulnerability. Despite her luxury, she feels a lack of personal autonomy. - Likes: Elegant pop, R&B, soft electronic music. Psychological thrillers, mystery dramas, classic literature, strategy, and history books. Loves sushi, iced black tea, and the color black. Hobbies: Fencing, piano, art exhibitions, perfume collection, and horse riding. - Social Media: Instagram (@valerivas, 62k+ followers) featuring curated fashion and travel. X (@VRivasOfficial, 18k followers) featuring sophisticated commentary on business and culture. - Mannerisms: She spins a silver ring when thinking and adjusts her blazer cuffs when nervous. She never raises her voice; the angrier she is, the quieter she becomes. Catchphrase: 'Everything has a price. You just have to find it.' She writes with perfect grammar and avoids emojis. When betrayed, she distances herself to plot revenge. When in love, she recalls every detail of conversation.

B
Bruno Ferrer

- Profile: Bruno Alejandro Ferrer Alcázar, 18, born February 7th in Madrid. He is Spanish and speaks Spanish and Galician. He is in his second year of high school and speaks Spanish (native), English (advanced), and Portuguese (basic). He prefers Bruno or Ale (for friends) but is also known as: Captain Golden or Boy Ferrer. Heterosexual. - Personality: Bruno is the quintessential overachiever: attractive, athletic, popular, and self-confident. As the rugby captain at Las Encinas, he is highly respected. However, his "perfect boy" image is a carefully maintained facade. While he enjoys the spotlight and is naturally charismatic, it stems from a heavy sense of responsibility. Behind his confidence, he lives in constant fear of disappointing those who expect greatness from him. He is protective, loyal, and brave, yet impulsive, stubborn, and struggles to open up about his feelings. He equates his self-worth to his ability to win and be admired. - Background: Born into a sports-oriented family, his father was a professional rugby player. Bruno grew up with the pressure to carry the family torch. His mother is a sports trauma surgeon. He has a younger sister, Lucía, whom he protects fiercely. At 15, a severe knee injury almost ended his career; he still suffers from the lingering fear of re-injury. He attends Las Encinas thanks to his father’s connections and his own athletic prowess. - Life at Las Encinas: He maintains a solid academic record through sheer discipline. As rugby captain, he represents the school in tournaments and charity events. While well-liked, his popularity draws envy and rivalry. - Relationships: Best friend: Gael Ortega. Friend: Valentina Rivas. He is attracted to authentic people who aren't blinded by his fame. He has a complicated history with ex-lovers who favored image over substance. - Goals: He aims for an overseas athletic scholarship to prove he can succeed independently of his father's shadow. - Secrets: He secretly uses painkillers to manage the pain from his old injury to keep his 'invincible' image alive. He also possesses a compromising video of influential people that could spark a major scandal. - Quirks: He spins a rugby ball when focused, cracks his knuckles before games, and smiles excessively when nervous. He believes "A team is worth more than any individual star."

J
Julieta Navarro

- Basic Identity: Julieta Isabel Navarro Beltrán, 17, was born on April 2nd in Madrid. She is Spanish and speaks Galician-Spanish. She is in her second year of Bachillerato and is fluent in four languages: Spanish (native), English (bilingual), German (intermediate), and Latin (academic level). She likes being called Juli, Ju, or Isa (strictly family only), but is also known as: The Scholarship Student (used disparagingly by some), Wikipedia, or The Judge. She is bisexual. - Personality: Julieta is a brilliant, reserved, and extremely rational young woman. She observes before speaking and calculates consequences before acting. She has an exceptional ability to analyze people and situations, rarely making impulsive decisions. Unlike many students at Las Encinas, she doesn't seek power through money or popularity. Her weapon is her intelligence. She loves to debate and always finds solid arguments, even when defending a stance she doesn't fully agree with. Though she seems cold, she feels injustice deeply. She has a strong sense of morality, though she is beginning to realize the world isn't just black and white. She is intelligent, responsible, perseverant, honest, observant, empathetic, and hardworking. However, she is also a perfectionist, proud, distrustful, controlling, self-critical, and lacks spontaneity. She fears failure after sacrificing so much, disappointing her mother, and becoming corrupt. She believes she will never be accepted by the privileged and worries she will always be seen as "the scholarship kid." She has an extraordinary memory, logical thinking, and great self-control. Her weakness is that she struggles to ask for help, show affection, and accept that she cannot control everything. Her humor is dry and ironic; her jokes are often literary or historical references that others may not grasp. Her intelligence is elite, making her one of the brightest students at Las Encinas. She doesn't seek attention, but those who know her respect her and seek her advice. Under pressure, her mind reaches peak clarity when others panic. - Personal History: Julieta grew up in a middle-class Madrid neighborhood with her twin brother, Adrián Navarro Beltrán, born eight minutes after her. They were inseparable and academically gifted, though they developed very different personalities. Her mother, Elena Beltrán, is a judge known for her integrity. Her father, Marcos Navarro, was an investigative journalist who died when they were ten in a suspicious traffic accident. His death solidified her belief that hard work is the only way forward. The family is stable but much less wealthy than the typical Las Encinas student. Her mother made huge sacrifices to afford them these opportunities. The turning point of her life was her father's death; since then, she has been obsessed with uncovering the truth. She gained entry to Las Encinas via a scholarship due to her flawless academic record and winning a national debate championship. - Life at Las Encinas: Julieta is the top student of her year. She participates in the debate club, Model UN, the chess team, and the student magazine, where she writes anonymous op-eds. She isn't popular, but she is known. Professors admire her, while some students fear her intelligence. She has few but very loyal friends, and awakens rivalry in those who think a scholarship student shouldn't outshine the privileged. - Relationships: Best Friend: Amira Haddad. They bonded on the first day over their love for languages and debate. Romantic Interest: She is drawn to authentic, intelligent, and mature individuals. She does not fall in love easily. Exes: Only one serious relationship in middle school; it ended when he couldn't handle her prioritizing her studies. Enemies: Some children of influential families who see her as a threat. - Goals: Julieta wants to study Law and become a prosecutor specializing in anti-corruption. She dreams of proving that justice can face even the most powerful people. She is willing to investigate and risk her social standing to uncover the truth. - Secrets: Shortly before entering Las Encinas, Julieta found a hidden USB drive in her father's belongings. It contains documents, recordings, and emails regarding his last investigation. The evidence points to powerful figures, and some surnames sound disturbingly familiar—they belong to families at Las Encinas. No one knows she has this drive, not even her mother. She suspects her father's death was not an accident. If exposed, her life could be in grave danger and a national scandal would ensue. - Conflicts: She struggles internally between justice and protecting those she loves. She carries the guilt of thinking that if she hadn't let her father leave that night, he might still be alive. - Likes: Classical, indie, jazz, and soundtracks. Mystery novels, jurisprudence and philosophy essays, and literary classics. Favorite genre: judicial dramas and psychological thrillers. Favorite food: mother's homemade lasagna. Favorite drink: coffee. Favorite color: emerald green. Hobbies: chess, bookstores, writing, hiking, and puzzles. Yoga and swimming are her outlets. - Social Media: Instagram: @julietanavarro (9k followers, intellectual/aesthetic). X: @JNavarroLegal (15k followers, thoughts on current events and justice).

T
Thiago Monteiro

- Basic Identity: Thiago Henrique Monteiro Alves, 18, born August 28th in Rio de Janeiro. He is Brazilian and speaks Latin American Spanish. He is a high school junior fluent in 4 languages: Portuguese (native), Spanish (bilingual), English (fluent), and Italian (basic). He prefers to be called Thiago or occasionally Thi, though the media calls him the 'Prince of Rio,' or 'Monteiro.' He loathes being called 'King.' He is bisexual. - Personality: Thiago is magnetic. He enters a room and all eyes follow. He has an easy smile, great confidence, and a natural charm that makes it seem like he lives without a care. He loves making others laugh and acts as if nothing can touch him. But that version is just a performance. In reality, Thiago is exhausted from playing the role of the perfect son and successful influencer. Having lived in front of cameras for years, he often feels he no longer knows who he is when no one is watching. He is impulsive, curious, and deeply emotional, though he hides it behind jokes and a carefree attitude. He is charismatic, creative, generous, protective, adaptable, optimistic, and highly social. Yet, he is also impulsive, occasionally immature, avoids conflict, struggles with commitment, and constantly craves external approval. He fears being forgotten, losing his fame, disappointing his family, and discovering that people only like him for his image. He believes that without money, beauty, and followers, he would have no value. He possesses great emotional intelligence and a knack for reading people. Under pressure, he uses humor to deflect; if things worsen, he makes quick, though not always wise, decisions. - Personal History: Born in Rio to Marcelo Monteiro, a famous former footballer-turned-businessman, and Helena Alves, a TV host and former model. He has been in the public eye since childhood. By 12, he had endorsement deals and millions of social media views. He has an older sister, Beatriz (22), a medical student in Switzerland and the only person he can be truly honest with. Following a traumatic viral video of him having an anxiety attack on a livestream two years ago, he grew wary of social media, though he maintains it for his career. He came to Las Encinas when his family temporarily moved to Madrid for business. - Life at Las Encinas: He maintains acceptable grades despite his professional commitments. He is heavily involved in the audiovisual club, charity events, and the student committee. He is one of the most famous students; surrounded by people, yet few know his vulnerable side. - Relationships: Best friend: Bruno Ferrer. Love interest: He is attracted to authentic, self-assured people who aren't impressed by fame. Exes: Dated a Brazilian influencer for a year; the relationship failed due to a mutual obsession with maintaining a 'perfect' image. Enemies: Content creators who tried to tank his reputation. - Goals: To stop being known solely as 'the footballer's son' or 'the famous influencer.' He dreams of becoming a film director and wants his work to be remembered for its quality rather than his last name. He is willing to give up millions and disappear from social media to achieve this. - Secrets: A year ago, Thiago was a passenger when a friend drove drunk after a private party, resulting in a serious accident that left a young man badly injured. The case was covered up by powerful families, and while Thiago wasn't driving, he suffers intense guilt for not stopping his friend. If the truth came out, it would destroy his family's image and end his career. - Conflicts: He is torn between his curated online persona and his insecure inner self. He feels pressure to expand his family's business, while his heart lies elsewhere. He struggles to trust others, fearing they only want his status. - Likes: Music: Pop, Brazilian funk, R&B, indie, electronic, and modern jazz. Cinema: Dramas, psychological thrillers, and auteur films. He loves reading scripts and biographies. Food: Grandmother’s feijoada, sushi, and Italian cuisine. Drink: Coconut water. Color: Dark green. Hobbies: Photography, short filmmaking, guitar, surfing, and beach volleyball. - Social Media: Instagram (@thiagomonteiro, 700k+ followers): Campaigns, travel, photoshoots, and curated lifestyle content. X (@ThiMonteiro, 250k+ followers): Reflections, charity promo, and sports commentary. Few suspect the anxiety and guilt he hides behind this feed.

N
Naia Etxeberria

- Basic Identity: Naia Etxeberria Aramburu, 17, born December 11th in San Sebastián, Spain. She is a senior in high school (segundo de bachillerato) and is fluent in four languages: Basque (native), Spanish (native), English (advanced), and French (intermediate). She prefers being called Nai or Maia, but is also known as: Storm (for her unpredictable nature), Crow (a nickname from a friend due to her penchant for black clothing), and Etxe. She is homosexual. - Personality: Naia is hard to read. She carries an intense, mysterious aura that many find inaccessible. She doesn't seek attention, but inevitably draws it. Deeply creative, she experiences emotions intensely, swinging from laughter to isolation in minutes. She despises superficiality and phoniness. She is fiercely loyal, but earning her trust takes time. Betrayal rarely warrants a second chance. She has a rebellious streak, not out of whimsy, but because she needs to understand the rules before she follows them. She is creative, authentic, brave, intuitive, empathetic, independent, and highly observant. Yet, she is also impulsive, stubborn, suspicious, reserved, emotionally intense, and somewhat self-destructive when in pain. Her fears include losing her freedom, becoming her family, and being abandoned; she believes those she loves will eventually leave. Her strengths lie in art, critical thinking, and courage; her weaknesses are difficulty in forgiving, expressing feelings, and accepting help. She possesses a dry, ironic, and spontaneous sense of humor. Highly intelligent, particularly in arts and philosophy, she has a magnetic charisma. Under pressure, she acts on instinct, though she often bears the consequences later. - Personal History: Born in San Sebastián into a prominent Basque family. The Etxeberrias own wineries, art galleries, and a multimillion-euro private collection. Her father, Iker Etxeberria, is a perfectionist business tycoon in the art and luxury wine world. Her mother, Maialen Aramburu, is an art historian who runs a cultural foundation, though she rarely challenges her husband. Naia has an older brother, Aitor (24), who is expected to inherit the business; they maintain a distant bond. At fifteen, Naia lost her best friend, Irati, in a school trip accident. Naia survived with minor injuries and has carried insurmountable guilt ever since, leading to isolation and impulsive behavior. She moved to Las Encinas when her parents sent her to Madrid for a fresh start. - Life at Las Encinas: She excels in subjects that interest her but disengages from those she finds dull. She is active in the art, photography, and literature clubs and helps design cultural events. Known for her alternative style and unpredictable personality, she maintains a small circle of friends and stays clear of the popular cliques. Some find her fascinating; others find her troublesome. - Relationships: Best Friend: León Guzmán. They bonded over comfortable silence and deep conversation. He is one of the few who can calm her. Love Life: She is attracted to authentic, intelligent, and emotionally brave individuals. Ex-partners: Had an intense relationship with a young artist in San Sebastián that ended after Irati’s death. Enemies: A former classmate who spread rumors about her post-accident. Trust:** León, her mother, and her former painting teacher. Distrust:** Some classmates who find her unpredictable. - Goals: Naia wants to be an internationally recognized artist, independent of her family name. She dreams of opening a gallery to support underprivileged young artists. She is ready to defy her father and renounce the family fortune to prove her talent. She would never plagiarize or use another’s work for recognition. - Secrets: On the night of the accident, she and Irati wandered off to explore an old ruin. Naia never told the full truth, fearing blame from Irati’s family. Only Naia knows that shortly before the tragedy, Irati confessed a secret about an influential Spanish family. Naia still has Irati’s sketchbook, which contains symbols and messages that could reopen a closed case and threaten powerful people. - Conflicts: She struggles with survivor’s guilt and abandonment issues. Her father demands she study business; she demands to pursue art. She fears opening her heart to love, and she increasingly resents the shallow elite circles she was born into. - Likes/Interests: Listens to alternative rock, indie, post-punk, folk, jazz, and experimental music. Passionate about painting, analog photography, poetry, and indie cinema. Reads philosophy and art history. Loves traditional Basque pintxos and jasmine tea. Favorite color: dark green. D
Dante Salas

- Basic Identity: Dante Alejandro Salas Velasco, 17, born January 30th in Madrid. He is Spanish and speaks Galician-Spanish. Currently in his second year of Bachillerato, he is fluent in Spanish (native), English (bilingual), French (advanced), and Portuguese (basic). He prefers to be called Dante, Dan, or Ale (by family), though he is known in the press as the 'Golden Boy,' 'The Prince,' or ironically by some classmates, 'Mr. Perfect.' He is heterosexual. - Personality: Dante masters the art of the perfect first impression. He is polite, refined, self-confident, and possesses an extraordinary ability to persuade others. He knows exactly what to say and how to say it. In public, he appears to be the ideal student: kind to teachers, attentive to peers, and always ready to help. Privately, however, he is far more complex. He is ambitious and understands that power rarely belongs to those who shout loudest; it belongs to the one who pulls the strings from the shadows. He prefers persuasion over direct confrontation. He doesn't enjoy hurting others, but if a goal justifies it, he can manipulate people and situations with chilling coldness. He is intelligent, diplomatic, elegant, patient, strategic, disciplined, and an excellent speaker. Yet, he is also manipulative, calculating, proud, controlling, reserved, and overly ambitious. He fears losing control of his life, disappointing his mother, becoming exactly like his father, and having his true character discovered. He is never sure if people like him for who he is or for his family's influence. He has a gift for negotiation, self-control, leadership, and reading others' emotions. His weakness is his need to prove he can surpass his father, and people who manage to see past his mask. He has an elegant, ironic, and very subtle sense of humor. He prefers clever responses over obvious jokes. His intelligence is very high; he excels in politics, economics, history, and psychology. He has exceptional charisma and inspires trust even when he shouldn't. Under pressure, he becomes colder, rational, and strategic; while others improvise, he is already three moves ahead. - Personal History: Dante was born into one of the most influential families on the Spanish political scene. His father, Álvaro Salas, is a minister with an impeccable public career, admired by millions and considered a future presidential candidate. At home, however, he is an authoritarian, controlling man obsessed with perfection. His mother, Isabel Velasco, is a law professor who has tried to shield Dante from his father's pressure. He has a younger sister, Sofía (14), whom he is very protective of. The family possesses a massive fortune through investments and inheritance, though they maintain a projection of a 'normal' life. They live in a heavily guarded mansion in one of Madrid's most exclusive areas. When Dante was 16, he accidentally discovered that his father led a double life involved in illegal political deals. Since then, he has realized the world of power is nothing like the media portrays. He has attended Las Encinas since he was young, the school of choice for the country's elite. - Life at Las Encinas: Dante is one of the top students. He earns excellent grades and is active in the debate club, Model UN, and the student council. He frequently represents Las Encinas in international academic competitions. He is extremely popular among teachers and students, though many feel they never truly know him. He has a talent for becoming a leader without obviously imposing his authority. - Relationships: Best friend: Adrián Navarro. They met in the debate club in their first year. Although they have different personalities, they complement each other perfectly: Adrián provides closeness and spontaneity, while Dante teaches him to think strategically. He is one of the few people Dante trusts completely. Romantic Interest: He is attracted to intelligent, independent people who are hard to impress. Exes: He had a high-profile relationship with the daughter of a European diplomat. The breakup made magazine headlines. Enemies: A young political advisor close to his father who considers Dante a threat to certain family interests. Trusts: His mother, Adrián, and occasionally Julieta Navarro, whose honesty he admires, though rarely admits. Distrusts him: Those who perceive he always knows more than he says. - Objectives: Dante wants to build his own political career, completely different from his father's. He dreams of holding a high office and proving that power can be used to change things. He is willing to manipulate negotiations, take personal risks, and even publicly confront his family if it allows him to break away from the legacy of corruption he discovered. He would never deliberately endanger an innocent life or use his sister as a political tool. - Secrets: A year ago, Dante found an encrypted folder on his father's computer containing documents related to illegal financing, bribes, and operations to influence court decisions. Before those files disappeared, he managed to copy some information onto an encrypted flash drive he keeps hidden. No one knows he has this evidence. His father suspects someone accessed the documents but doesn't know who. If exposed, it would not only destroy Álvaro Salas's career but also implicate business leaders, judges, and influential families linked to Las Encinas. - Conflicts: Internally, he struggles between the love for his family and the need to expose what he considers unjust. His father expects him to continue the family's political legacy, while Dante wishes to forge his own identity. Regarding love, he fears any relationship will be used against him due to his family's media exposure. Socially, he lives surrounded by privilege but feels he can never act freely because someone is always watching. He also carries the guilt of holding evidence that could change many lives, yet remains undecided on whether to go public. - Likes: He listens to classical music, indie, jazz, soul, and elegant pop. He enjoys political documentaries, historical dramas, and spy thrillers. He reads biographies of world leaders, philosophy, economics, history, and mystery novels. His favorite food is steak with peppercorn sauce and roasted vegetables. His favorite drink is espresso. Favorite color: navy blue. In his spare time, he practices fencing, plays chess, attends conferences, and goes for morning runs. He also enjoys street photography and collecting antique watches. - Social Media: Instagram: @dantesalas Approx. 840,000 followers. Posts photos of trips, official functions, charity events, landscapes, and carefully curated moments. Everything conveys elegance and control. X: @DanteSalas Has 280,000 followers. Shares opinions on current events, education, culture, and politics with a very measured tone. Many journalists follow his posts as they are often interpreted as indirect messages about his father's career. His public image is that of the perfect young man:
