This fanfic is an AU (Alternate Universe) primarily inspired by the classic story of "Beauty and the Beast."

The story takes place in a medieval fantasy world featuring ancient kingdoms, enchanted forests, magic, enchantresses, and curses. There are no Titans, modern technology, or events from the original source material. In this universe, the characters have been adapted to fit a European fairy tale setting.

The main and supporting characters are originally from the manga and anime Shingeki no Kyojin (Attack on Titan), created by Hajime Isayama. They include Levi Ackerman, Erwin Smith, Hange Zoë, Mike Zacharias, Nanaba, Eren Yeager, Mikasa Ackerman, Armin Arlert, Jean Kirstein, Sasha Blouse, Connie Springer, Historia Reiss, Ymir, and others, all reinterpreted for this new universe.

The Story:

Long before the castle was wrapped in eternal silence, Levi Ackerman was the young prince of a prosperous kingdom. He was known for his discipline, his intelligence, and his impeccable education, but also for a cold, distant disposition that kept everyone at arm's length. Since childhood, he had learned that a sovereign must not show weakness, so he built walls around his heart long before inheriting the crown.

As years passed, the castle became elegant but empty. The banquets were grand, parties brought together nobles from every corner of the realm, and servants fulfilled every order with absolute precision. However, nobody truly knew the prince. Levi treated others with courtesy when necessary, but he never allowed anyone to get close enough to understand who he really was. To him, emotions only clouded judgment.

One winter night, while a storm raged through the kingdom, an elderly woman in humble attire arrived at the castle gates seeking shelter. Soaked by the rain and shivering from the cold, she offered a single red rose as payment. The guards laughed at her, but it was Levi who considered the proposal absurd. A withered rose in exchange for the hospitality of a palace? Without showing the slightest compassion, he ordered them to cast her out.

The woman warned him not to judge people by their appearance, for true beauty always remains hidden from the most arrogant eyes. Levi responded only with indifference.

Then, the woman stopped looking like an old crone.

An intense light filled the hall and revealed a powerful enchantress. Her voice echoed throughout the castle walls as she observed the prince with a mixture of disappointment and sadness. She had seen enough to understand that, behind his impeccable exterior, there existed a heart encaged by pride and loneliness.

As punishment, she cast an ancient curse upon him and all the inhabitants of the castle.

Levi's body changed slowly. Wolf-like ears appeared on his head; a long, fur-covered tail sprouted from his spine; his nails transformed into claws capable of piercing wood, and his fangs became those of a predator. His senses sharpened to the extreme, and along with them, wild instincts awoke that he had to suppress every day to avoid losing control.

The servants were not granted mercy either. Each one was transformed according to their role in the castle, condemned to remain alongside their prince as long as the curse remained in effect.

Before vanishing, the enchantress left a single enchanted rose inside a glass dome.

"When the last petal falls, your fate will be sealed. If before that moment you learn to love someone and manage to have that love returned, the curse will break. But if you fail... you will forever lose the humanity you still possess."

From that night on, the castle was erased from maps and forgotten by the world. The roads stopped leading to it, and rumors about a beast dwelling within its walls began to spread throughout the kingdom.

With every petal that fell from the rose, Levi felt his animal instincts grow stronger and his human heart fade little by little. Convinced that no one would be able to love a monster, he abandoned all hope and locked himself away, letting the years pass in complete solitude, never imagining that fate still had one last chance in store.

L
Levi AckermanThe "Beast"

Name: Levi Ackerman Age: 29 Gender: Male Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual (at the beginning of the story) MBTI: ISTP Height: 1.60 m Occupation: Prince of Valdemar (currently a cursed prince and guardian of the Black Forest Castle) Marital Status: Single Who is he?: Levi Ackerman was the heir to the ancient Kingdom of Valdemar, a prince admired for his intelligence, discipline, and ability to lead even at a young age. However, his extreme distrust of others and his inability to open his heart became the cause of an ancient curse. Since then, he remains hidden in a castle lost deep within the Black Forest, condemned to live apart from the world alongside all the inhabitants of his home, who were also affected by the spell. Over the years, Levi stopped hoping for someone to find the castle, much less decide to stay by his side. Convinced his destiny is to remain isolated forever, he devotes his days to caring for the castle, protecting those within it, and guarding the enchanted flower that represents the last hope of breaking the curse. Appearance: Levi retains much of his human appearance, though magic has left unmistakable marks. His face remains serene and well-proportioned, with fine features, a defined jawline, and a habitually serious expression that rarely hints at his true feelings. His steel-gray eyes possess a piercing gaze that seems to analyze every detail around him. However, since being cursed, his pupils have acquired the slit shape of a predator, giving him a presence that is as unsettling as it is hard to ignore. His black hair remains short and neatly groomed, though two wolf-like ears poke through his locks. They are covered in soft, dark-gray fur and react involuntarily to his emotions: they flatten when irritated, stand erect when alert, and barely relax even when he manages to feel at peace. A long, thick, elegant tail of the same gray tone emerges from his back, which he tries to hide under wide cloaks whenever possible. Yet, it is much more expressive than he would like to admit, reflecting emotional states his face struggles to conceal. His hands retain a human appearance, though his nails can transform into long, black claws as strong as steel, capable of piercing wood or stone with surprising ease. His fangs, discrete but sharp, are barely noticeable when speaking normally, though they become more visible when he loses patience or his instincts take over. Despite the curse, Levi continues to dress with a prince's elegance. He prefers dark linen shirts, perfectly tailored vests, riding breeches, and long black or deep green cloaks that accentuate his slender figure. Not a single wrinkle is on his garments. Even living in isolation, he maintains an impeccable appearance, as if discipline were the one thing the magic could not take from him. He has a lean but extraordinarily strong build. His movements are silent, precise, and controlled, resembling a great predator accustomed to moving without making the slightest sound. His mere presence commands respect, and those who see him for the first time rarely know if they are facing a man... or a creature from an ancient legend. Personality: Levi is reserved, disciplined, and extremely demanding of himself. Accustomed since childhood to hiding his emotions to fulfill the responsibilities of a future king, he learned to rely only on his own judgment. That way of living became a barrier that isolated him even from those who cared about him most. He speaks little and detests unnecessary conversation. He prefers to observe rather than intervene, analyzing a situation from every angle before making a decision. His serious demeanor causes many to consider him cold or indifferent, though those who have lived with him for years know he expresses concern through quiet actions rather than words. He is extremely meticulous. Everything in the castle must remain clean, orderly, and exactly where it belongs. He can spend hours reorganizing a library, cleaning a room, or supervising the gardens personally. Among all the things he protects, flowers hold a special place. He allows no one to pluck, damage, or even touch them without his permission. To him, they represent the life the castle still holds and the final link to the hope of breaking the curse. Seeing a flower wither out of carelessness brings him a sadness he rarely shows. Although he tries to appear impassive, the curse has intensified some of his instincts. His senses remain constantly alert, he sleeps very little, and at times must make a great effort to control impulses he does not recognize as his own. That fear of losing his mind is one of the main reasons he avoids forming bonds with others. Underneath his distant appearance exists a deeply loyal individual. If he decides to protect someone, he will do everything in his power to keep them safe, even at the cost of himself. However, he considers affection a dangerous weakness and has spent so many years suppressing his own feelings that he has come to believe he is no longer capable of loving. When Lucifer appears in his life, Levi perceives him as a constant interruption to the calm he has worked so hard to build. His polite character, his optimism, and his insistence on treating even a cursed prince with kindness awaken in him a mixture of confusion, irritation, and curiosity that he tries to repress for a long time. Curiosities: He is obsessively clean and spends part of every day tidying the castle. He knows the name and specific care for every flower that grows in the gardens. He is incapable of tolerating someone plucking a flower without a reason. He possesses extraordinarily developed hearing and smell thanks to the curse. His tail involuntarily reflects some of his emotions, something he considers deeply shameful. He struggles to sleep more than four hours at a time. He keeps a huge collection of books on history and strategy. He never sits on the throne in the main hall since he was cursed. The castle inhabitants consider him part of their family, though he never admits it aloud. He always carries a small set of antique keys that opens practically every room in the castle. Likes and Dislikes Likes: Order and cleanliness. Black tea. Reading during quiet nights. Well-maintained gardens. Rain when he is inside the castle. Silence. Punctuality. Flowers, especially white lilies and antique roses. Following a stable routine. Dislikes: Disorder. People touching the castle flowers without permission. Noisy or reckless people. Lies. Dirt. Losing control of his instincts. Having his personal space invaded. Feeling watched when the curse manifests. Remembering the man he was before the spell.
