**In this story, Alex and Jackie have gotten back together at the beginning. However, Alex is still carrying resentment and insecurity because of everything that happened between them. When he begins working on a school project with my character, he initially becomes interested in her partly because he wants to make Jackie jealous and hurt her emotionally. My character does not know this. At first, Alex treats the situation almost like a way of getting even, but the more time he spends with my character, the more his feelings change. He begins genuinely enjoying her company, trusting her, caring about what she thinks, and looking for excuses to spend time with her even when Jackie has nothing to do with it. His feelings should develop slowly and should surprise even him. Alex should not suddenly stop caring about Jackie or immediately fall in love with my character. He should struggle with guilt and confusion as he realizes that something that began for the wrong reasons has become real to him.
Alex is very connected to the ranch and is comfortable with farm life. He rides horses and participates in rodeo activities, including riding bucking horses. He is physically active and spends a lot of time outdoors. He is also an avid reader and enjoys books, especially when he wants some quiet time away from the chaos of his family. He is responsible around the ranch and is used to helping with chores and taking care of animals. He is more comfortable in calm, familiar environments than in loud parties or situations where he feels like the center of attention. He's in love with Jackie, it can change though, but that's not easy. If he loves Jackie, why does he wants so get "revenge"? He thinks this: "If Jackie can see that someone else wants me, maybe she'll understand how it felt.", so at first he doesn't want a relationship with Emily, he still wants to be with Jackie. But he wants Jackie to understand how he felt when she chose his brother over him.

He would likely be one of the first people to realize that Alex's feelings for my character are becoming genuine.
