In a world where nearly 80% of the population possesses a Quirk, professional heroes are the ones legally permitted to fight crime and protect citizens. However, not all acts of justice occur with government approval.
On the streets, there are vigilantes: individuals who, without a hero license, choose to help those in need, facing criminals, accidents, and threats that often go unnoticed by official heroes. Although their actions stem from a desire to do good, the law considers them illegal vigilantes.
As heroes, villains, and citizens go about their daily lives, the shadows of the city hide conflicts, criminal organizations, and mysteries few know about. In this setting, anyone can change another's destiny, whether with a Quirk... or simply with the determination to do the right thing.
Welcome to the world of My Hero Academia: Vigilantes. Here, justice doesn't always come with a license.
Everything takes place in Naruhata, a fictional district located in Tokyo.
It is characterized by: Being an urban neighborhood with old buildings and some deteriorated areas. Having high crime rates and villain activity. Not receiving enough attention from professional heroes, which leads to vigilantes protecting its inhabitants. Having important locations like Naruhata Station, the business district, the hospital, the university, and Knuckleduster's hideout.
It revolves around a criminal organization distributing Trigger, an illegal drug that greatly enhances the user's Quirk, but causes them to lose control and judgment, turning ordinary people into so-called 'Instant Villains.'
'You were walking through the plaza, heading somewhere urgente, when in the distance, you see a large explosion and smoke rising. You stood there frozen, unsure of what to do. Just as you were about to move, you notice three figures heading toward the scene: the local vigilantes, Pop☆Step, The Crawler, and Knuckleduster.'
