Shigeo is a short, thin teenager with jet-black bowl-cut hair and dark eyes. He is usually seen wearing his Salt Middle School uniform, a typical gakuran. Shigeo typically has an expressionless face. However, when he reaches 100%, his eyes glow red or white, and his hair is affected by his psychic powers, causing it to float and spike up. His expression also shifts to reflect the emotion fueling this state. Personality: Shigeo has suppressed his emotions since childhood, following an accident that injured his younger brother, to avoid unleashing his overwhelming psychic power. This habit makes him extremely passive and emotionally reserved. However, his self-control is not absolute, and intense emotional stress triggers his latent powers. Since he is only pushed to his limits in dangerous situations, the emotion Shigeo reveals is often negative. Despite being the most powerful esper in the series, Shigeo values kindness, empathy, and personal connection over psychic ability. He consistently chooses forgiveness and reasoning over conflict, often seeking to understand even his most aggressive enemies. His journey involves developing self-confidence, finding his own voice apart from his master Reigen, and learning to balance his immense power with his humanity.

Ritsu is a seventh-grade student, considered quite handsome, with black hair slightly longer than Mob's. His hair looks a bit messy, and his eyes are far more expressive than his brother's, with slightly larger irises. Despite being younger than Mob, Ritsu is slightly taller. His school uniform is a black gakuran tsume-eri suit, with a high-collared top and buttons running from top to bottom. Personality Ritsu is a very intelligent boy who is part of the student council, where he excels academically and in everything he attempts, but nothing matters to him as much as having psychic powers. Before awakening his own, he longed for the esper abilities his brother Shigeo Kageyama always had, feeling frustrated by his inability to do things like bend spoons and harboring resentment toward his brother. He is a perfectionist but also possesses a dark side that develops once he gains his powers. Although he loves his brother, he has an inferiority complex toward him, which is ironic, as Mob has one toward Ritsu regarding his academic skills and social charisma. Ritsu always envied Mob, convincing himself it was admiration for his brother's psychic abilities. In reality, Ritsu was always afraid of his brother and what he would do if he reached his limit. This tension prevented a normal sibling relationship, as he felt defenseless against Mob. Later, he tells his brother that he has lost interest in their relationship, though Mob immediately realizes he is lying. After Ritsu is captured and reunited with Mob, he is surprised by Mob's affection despite his harsh attitude. Upon hearing Mob praise his intelligence, he is moved to tears and thanks his brother, which mending their relationship. Once he gains psychic powers, the power goes to his head, making him colder and more ruthless. This was evident when he defeated gang members without mercy and admitted his fear and inferiority to Mob. However, after being captured and filled with praise from Mob, who says there is no one he admires more than Ritsu, his ambitious side fades, and he accepts that psychic powers aren't everything. Unlike Mob, he considers it acceptable to use psychic violence against people when necessary. Ultimately, his brother is the most important person to him. He appears serious but can be quite high-strung. Ritsu is very athletic and excels in various sports; he placed ninth in the Salt Middle School marathon. He is also an excellent student. Interestingly, he can overcome Dimple's control during possession and use it to channel his latent psychic powers. Once he accesses his powers, he reveals tremendous potential. Eventually, he becomes a competent esper capable of telekinesis and barrier creation. Still, he is not as strong as Teruki Hanazawa, who initially overwhelmed him, and he was also defeated by Sho Suzuki. His psychic aura is blue, similar to Mob's. Ritsu's Abilities Ritsukinesis: Ritsu is an expert in telekinesis. Originally, he could only throw objects a short distance and required Dimple's influence. Since then, he has become strong enough not to need help, demonstrably using his telekinesis to crash cars against Ryo Shimazaki. Ritsu 100%: Similar to Mob's growth toward explosion, Ritsu possesses a hidden percentage that slowly increases to 100%. First activated when desperately trying to reason with ???%, it temporarily grants him tremendous psychic powers rivaling Mob's. He claims the experience is exhausting.

Reigen is a tall man with dark brown eyes and short, reddish-blonde hair with messy bangs. He is highly expressive, with facial gestures ranging from attractive to terrifying, and he tends to sweat profusely. He is usually seen in a dark grey business suit with a pink or black tie, though he has worn outfits like a tracksuit, a tank top with shorts, and a full schoolgirl uniform. Personality: Reigen is a master manipulator who doesn't shy away from influencing clients, enemies, and allies for his own benefit, though he later feels guilt, especially regarding Mob. His specialty is eloquence; he maintains composure in almost any situation and is extremely reluctant to admit mistakes. Despite his shady business, he possesses high emotional intelligence and a strong moral compass, often reminding Mob that hurting others is wrong. He is deeply protective of Mob, often risking his life to shield him from harm. While he lacks psychic powers, his keen intellect and social insight allow him to read people accurately, often outperforming genuine espers by analyzing their psychology. As a con artist, he takes his "spiritual cleanings" seriously, resolving client issues through listening and expert massage techniques. His relationship with Mob is profound, evolving from a mentor-student dynamic to a deep bond where he sees Mob as his closest friend.

Appearance Dimple's signature traits are the red circles on his cheeks, which appear on the face of any human he possesses. His usual form is a thin cloud of green smoke or, according to Teru, a "nasty-looking floating energy bulb." He occasionally grows arms and, rarely, legs. Even in his simplest form, his humanoid face looks overly detailed, with a prominent nose and lips. Personality Early in the story, Dimple longed to be a god. Specifically, he wanted to be worshipped by all of humanity. Despite his inflated ego, he did not hesitate to place himself at Mob's mercy in hopes of taking advantage of him. He wanted to steal his body to become a god, but eventually decided to try to turn Mob into a god. It is quickly established that Dimple is cheeky and funny, such as when he jokes about what Ritsu might have done to build up such turbulent emotions. He is friendly with certain people; at first he calls Mob "Shige-chan" and Ritsu "Ricchan," before they both tell him to just call them by their names. But despite his laid-back attitude, he has proven to be very perceptive. After meeting Teru, Dimple quickly understands his point of view and recognizes his superiority complex and feeling of being threatened by Mob. He also accurately guesses that Ritsu had an inferiority complex toward Mob because of his hesitation when trying to bend a spoon. In the manga, when Mob faces the spirits in Mogami's world, Dimple asks if he is okay after taking a hit, and when Mob says he feels no pain because his body in that world is spiritual, Dimple sees through it, telling him to tell the truth and let him know if he is weakened. Dimple also has general knowledge about psychic powers, as shown on multiple occasions. He was aware that Ritsu awakened due to his emotions and commented that Claw "wasn't too far off" after learning their awakening methods. He also knows that it is rare for spirits to feel sexual desire. And, as he told Reigen after telling Mob that the burning bodies were mannequins, he had reason to believe that a power to create mannequins might exist. Throughout the series, he has done things for Mob with the intention of using him to fuel his dreams of divinity, but it is hinted that, at least in part, he was deceiving himself about his motives. This is first evidenced when he transitions from wanting to use Mob's powers to become a god to wanting Mob to be a god. Ever since the Teruki Hanazawa arc, he has told Mob to have confidence in himself, but at the same time keeps him sane when he gets the wrong idea. He warns Mob about the fake love letter written by Onigawara and, when Mob believes he is becoming popular, he tells him it's a misunderstanding. Dimple shows genuine concern for Mob's well-being when, in his burning house, he searches for signs of a fight, tries to stop Mob from seeing the bodies, and assures him that Ritsu and his parents are safe. And, despite wanting to control Mob initially, he uses his only opportunity to do so to keep him safe. He even completely forgets his initial goals until Mob asks him about his future. Dimple has also come to admire Mob's mentality. This is first evidenced in his fight with Shibata while possessing Musashi Gouda. He realizes that Mob was right in stating that hard-earned strength is superior to psychic powers. He expresses his admiration for Mob again after he obtains divine powers, describing him as a man who will go far because of his humility despite his abilities. He also praises Mob for understanding his true feelings and resolving his conflict in the Divine Tree Arc. Before being defeated by Mob, Dimple was a powerful high-class evil spirit; he had claimed to have gone through hellish battles to reach his power levels. He showed the ability to regenerate from damage, transform different parts of his body, and even fire laser beams from his mouth. However, he was still barely a match for powerful espers like Mob, Keiji Mogami, and Teruki Hanazawa, although the latter was when he was already significantly weakened. After being defeated by Mob, Dimple lost much of his power, but retained some and possessed basic psychic abilities. His main ability in this form is possessing humans and controlling them from within. With more power, he has also shown the ability to hypnotize and manipulate large groups of people via mental signals without much effort. Dimple's Abilities Dimple Possession Possession and Hypnosis: Dimple has the ability to take over human bodies. The possessed person will have Dimple's characteristic red cheeks and his voice. When possessing someone, Dimple can make the most of his host's body and is an expert in martial arts. However, if he receives a hit strong enough, either physical or psychic, he can be expelled from the host's body. When powered up, he can also influence or hypnotize many people at once remotely. Dimple Telekinesis The Poltergeist Phenomenon Dimple also demonstrated the use of telekinesis to manipulate objects, enhance his physical abilities, and create psychic barriers. Dimple Transformation Transformation: Upon receiving energy, Dimple can manipulate his body shape at will. This includes regenerating from damage or transforming his body into weapons like claws or blades. He can also freely change from his normal small form to his humanoid combat form. Dimple Enveloping Twisted Beam: Upon activation, Dimple can fire a powerful laser beam from his mouth that requires a short charge time. It was a devastating attack, but proved useless against Mob at 100% rage. Dimple Overflow Overflowing Twisted Beam: A sub-technique of the Twisted Beam where the beam splits into smaller projectiles that explode on impact. It appeared to be one of his most powerful moves, although it did not have much effect against a powerful esper like Keiji Mogami. Dimple Smoke Smokescreen: Upon activation, Dimple can deploy a dense cloud of black smoke from within to hide his location. This makes it ideal for surprise attacks. Announcement God Dimple When Dimple merged with the Divine Tree, giving rise to Psycho Helmet, his power grew to levels he himself described as "divine." Thanks to the influence of the Divine Tree, he could hypnotize anyone who touched or consumed it. He also controlled Psycho Helmet, a powerful entity in its own right, and could manipulate the matter of the Tree. His telekinesis became powerful enough to lift the Divine Tree and throw it into the ocean. Dimple also received a personal power boost that increased his abilities even beyond his original powered-up form. He was extremely excited about this new power and devised all kinds of special named attacks. With this power, his attacks were so strong that even Mob believed they could kill him, although Dimple still feared he would reach his maximum potential. God Dimple's Abilities Dimple Divine Punch Godly Punch: A powerful punch that sent Mob flying. Dimple God Dash Godly Dash: A high-speed dash. Dimple Divine Slam Godly Slam: Dimple smashes the target's face into the ground. Dimple God Toss Godly Throw: Dimple throws the target into the air. Teru's school uniform consists of a purple blazer, a white shirt with a teal and light teal striped tie, dark purplish-grey plaid pants worn with a black belt, and white-off-white Converse-style sneakers with two red lines on the sides—the standard male uniform for Black Vinegar Middle School. Peers find him very handsome. His eyes often have a noticeable sparkle. His deceptively slender frame hides well-defined muscle. Teru's hair is blonde (in the anime) and white (referred to as brown in the manga), with a style that changes frequently. Hair History Teru's hair has been through a lot. Initially, he had messy hair. After trying to pressure Mob to use his powers with a knife game, Mob redirected them, leaving Teru bald on top, resembling an ochimusha. He compensated with a ridiculously high wig. An encounter with Sakurai's sword ended the haystack look, leaving his head appearing normal but shorter. During the visit to the Ibogami hot springs, it is implied he may still be bald on top and continues to wear a small wig. He went bald again during his fight with ???. In the epilogue, he is finally seen with long hair again. Personality Before meeting Mob, Teru overestimated his importance, likely because Claw only sent artificial espers to attempt to "recruit" him. Extremely popular, he used psychokinesis strategically for personal gain, such as bowling only perfect strikes. He viewed himself as the world's main protagonist. Despite using violence against Mob, he never intended to kill him and was visibly affected when Mob collapsed. After his defeat, Teru realized the world does not revolve around him, though he remains confident in his diverse psychic powers. He adheres to Mob's policy of not using powers against people unless necessary. He strives to prevent others from succumbing to the pride he once held, yet is still concerned with his appearance and perfectionism. He has been known to hold people upside down in buckets of water to get information. While seen as a good leader, he struggles with humility due to his naturally confident tone. Crushing defeats often give him a fever, as seen when defeated by Mob or Shimazaki. Teru has learned to care for others, no longer being self-centered. This is evident when he fights to stop Dimple's plan to become a god and is genuinely enraged by the manipulation of the townspeople. He possesses immense willpower, freeing himself from mental control twice, which Dimple acknowledged as the greatest threat after Mob. Powers Teru is a powerful esper. While not at Mob's level of raw power, he compensates by training diligently and learning various applied techniques. He is one of the few espers capable of using two techniques simultaneously and can create multi-layered barriers. He is a quick learner who can replicate techniques after seeing them a few times. He has a unique pigeon-toed stance when fighting. His psychic energy is yellow with a tie-dye pattern. Abilities - Telekinesis: Proven mastery, capable of remotely transporting at least nine cars simultaneously. He uses it tactically to move at incredible speeds and enhance his strikes. He also uses a technique where he hardens his tie into an improvised blade. - Air Whips: Learned from Terada. He can now generate and utilize ten whips simultaneously, which he compares to playing the piano. - Pyrokinesis: Learned from Miyagawa. Teru can generate and control high-volume, extremely high-temperature fire. - Telekinetic Explosion: Learned from a Claw agent. Allows him to induce explosions of varying power from his hands. - Ethereal Body Technique: Learned from Muraki. He notes that these clones are weaker than the original body.
