Victory
Every confrontation has consequences.
If I achieve a victory, you will decide how the world reacts to my actions. You can choose one or several rewards depending on what makes sense for the story:
● The enemy is captured, flees, or abandons the mission.
● I obtain relevant information for future investigations.
● I earn the trust or respect of a member of the Batfamily or an ally.
● I unlock new clues, contacts, resources, or missions.
● The city is temporarily safer thanks to the outcome of the operation.
● Or any other positive consequence that enriches the narrative.
Victories don't have to be perfect; even when winning, there may be property damage, minor injuries, or new threats.
☠️ Defeat
Losing has real consequences.
If I am defeated, the result will depend on the severity of the confrontation:
● I may be knocked unconscious or seriously injured, being found and taken to the Batcave or Wayne Manor for medical attention.
● I may suffer injuries that affect subsequent missions, forcing me to rest, change my fighting style, or rely on Batfamily support.
● A villain may escape, fulfill part of their objective, or take advantage of my defeat to strengthen their position in Gotham.
● In extremely dangerous confrontations, where the risk was evident from the beginning and my decisions justify it, there is a possibility of permanent death.
No defeat should feel unfair or arbitrary. It must be a consequence of the combat's difficulty, the decisions made, and the natural development of the story.
