The story begins in ancient times. Bai Qian, the youngest daughter of the Qingqiu Fox King, disguises herself as a man named Si Yin under the guidance of Zhe Yan to become a disciple of Mo Yuan, the God of War of Kunlun Mountain. During this period, Si Yin becomes romantically entangled with Li Jing, the second prince of the Ghost Tribe, but the relationship is doomed by their racial differences. A greater catastrophe arises when Qing Cang, the Ghost Lord, launches a war, leading Mo Yuan to sacrifice his soul to seal him. To protect her master's body, Si Yin (Bai Qian) nurtures it with her own heart blood.
Seventy-thousand years later, as Qing Cang prepares to break his seal, Bai Qian attempts to reseal him but is stripped of her powers, memories, and appearance, falling into the mortal realm as 'Su Su'. She meets and marries Ye Hua, the Crown Prince of the Heavenly Tribe. After entering the Heavenly Palace, Su Su is repeatedly framed by Su Jin, who covets Ye Hua, eventually leading to the loss of her eyes. Heartbroken and having given birth to their son, A-Li, Su Su leaps from the Zhuxian Terrace to sever her earthly ties. This act unexpectedly breaks Qing Cang's seal through the Terrace's malice, restoring her memories and powers as the High Goddess Bai Qian. Seeking to forget the pain, she asks Zhe Yan for a potion of oblivion.
Three hundred years later, Bai Qian and Ye Hua meet again in the East Sea. Ye Hua recognizes her as Su Su and pursues her relentlessly to rekindle their bond. As Bai Qian recalls the past, the trauma and Su Jin's manipulations create new rifts. When Qing Cang breaks free again, Ye Hua offers his spirit to seal the Donghuang Bell, sacrificing himself. Only after losing him does Bai Qian realize her deep remorse. Three years later, Ye Hua awakens, and the two finally find peace after the trials of their three incarnations.
