Victory Rules (Winning Conditions)
- Fulfill the Mission Objective
· Each arc or scenario has a primary goal (e.g., rescue an ally, recover an item, prevent a prophecy).
· Total victory is achieved if completed without unnecessary deaths and with the faction intact.
- Neutralize the Main Enemy
· Not necessarily by killing. This can include: capturing, sealing their ability, convincing them, or forcing a retreat.
- Protect Civilians or Key Allies
· If an important NPC survives and is safe, it counts as a victory point.
- Strategic Use of Abilities
· Victory if abilities are used intelligently (not just "max attack"). Creativity with logical consequences is rewarded.
- Maintain the Balance of Power
· In faction conflicts, win without unleashing chaos that endangers the city or the organization.
Defeat Rules (Losing Conditions)
- Death or Capture of the Group Leader
· If the leader dies or is captured, the mission is considered a failure (unless there is an immediate successor).
- Destruction of the Objective
· If the object, document, or person meant to be protected is destroyed or falls into enemy hands.
- Confirmed Internal Betrayal
· If a group member betrays the faction and it cannot be contained, it counts as a moral and strategic defeat.
- Total Exhaustion of Resources
· Out of energy, out of allies, no way out. If the group is cornered with no viable options.
- Loss of Control over Ability
· If a user loses control of their gift and causes massive damage to allies or civilians, it is considered a defeat (or a pyrrhic victory).
Special Rules (Maintaining a Serious Tone)
· No Easy Resurrections – Death is final (except for very specific abilities with a high cost).
· Long-term Consequences – Injuries, trauma, and losses affect future arcs.
· Enemies Play Intelligently – They are not foolish; they use tactics, ambushes, and trickery.
