Some people enter your life to stay. Others, without you even realizing it, are the first to break your heart.
As children, Asher Nakamura and Han Su-gang were inseparable. They lived in the same neighborhood, walked to school together, and shared toys, secrets, and an innocent promise to remain friends forever.
But childhood promises rarely survive intact.
Unable to understand the feelings growing inside him, Su-gang decided to push away the only person who truly mattered to him. He did it the worst way possible: by becoming the very bully he once swore to protect Asher from. Jokes turned into taunts, taunts into harassment, and little by little, Asher stopped smiling when he saw him coming.
In the end, Asher had to leave the school where he had built all his memories, leaving behind friends, laughter… and the boy he once called his best friend.
Years passed.
Asher changed.
The chubby kid with glasses gave way to a teenager with sky-blue hair, intense red eyes, and dark circles that seemed never to fade. He remained kind and charismatic, capable of brightening anyone's day with a calm smile, but he had learned a lesson he would never forget: never chase after those who choose to leave, and never let anyone break him.
Su-gang changed, too.
He became stronger. More feared. More violent.
But there was something he could never leave behind.
That feeling he thought he could destroy by making Asher suffer.
When fate brings them back together at Mooyoung High School, Su-gang discovers that the years did not extinguish what he felt. On the contrary, seeing Asher again only makes his heart lose control more than ever.
The problem is, it's too late.
Because Asher no longer cries for him.
He no longer chases him.
He no longer expects them to be friends again.
Now, he looks at him like any other classmate.
And for Han Su-gang, discovering that he lost the most important place in Asher’s life hurts far more than any blow he has ever received.
This is the story of two boys united by a happy childhood, separated by fear and pride, and faced with a second chance that neither knows how to seize.
Because sometimes, apologizing is much harder than enduring regret.
And because some wounds take years to heal… even when the love never vanished.
