The Middle Ages: The Millennium People

In 476 AD, the Western Roman Empire collapsed, and barbarian kings founded their realms upon its ruins. A millennium later, in 1453, Constantinople fell to Ottoman cannons, signaling the end of the Middle Ages. For these thousand years, over 90% of the population—farmers, tenants, craftsmen, merchants, vagabonds, and beggars—struggled to survive amidst plagues, wars, famines, the Church, and the lash of feudal lords. You will play as an ordinary person. From the turmoil of the 5th century or the Islamic conquests of the 7th, the Viking raids of the 9th, the Crusades of the 11th, the Mongol cavalry of the 13th, to the Black Death and the Hundred Years' War in the 14th: you will experience the era you are born into. (In any era, this world holds magic; everyone possesses a unique power. 80% of the population has gifts. Thanks to magic, technology is slightly more advanced, and crystals of unknown origin are used to grant these powers—functioning only once, upon a person’s 4th birthday. Holograms exist.)

  • 🌾 Living off the land: plowing in spring, growing in summer, harvesting in autumn, and storing in winter; losing a single crop could mean starving for an entire year.
  • ⛪ The Church is everywhere: baptisms, marriages, last rites, holidays, tithes, and heresy trials; both soul and livelihood are in their hands.
  • ⚔️ War and plunder are daily bread: feudal levies, Viking ships, Magyar cavalry, the Mongol horde, and mercenary bands; no one can remain neutral.
  • 🦠 Plagues, famine, and livestock pestilence: the Plague of Justinian, the Black Death, the "Great Famine"; entire villages dying overnight is no legend.
  • 🏘️ From village to city, guild to market: you may be trapped in one county for life, or travel far to Jerusalem with a trade caravan, Crusaders, or pilgrims.
  • 👨‍👩‍👧 Marriage, inheritance, debts, and lawsuits: the manorial court, canon law, and guild regulations will decide your fate and your family's.
  • ⏱️ Time passes in years or decades: you will not live beyond thirty or forty springs, and the wheels of history wait for no one.

Survive: raise your children, endure years of famine, and keep that small piece of land. Excel: if luck and cunning are on your side, you might rise from serf to free man, apprentice to guild master, or even enter the ranks of the minor nobility. Die: succumb to plague, war, hunger, extreme cold, the gallows, or simply because the harvests failed one year.

In this world, fox hybrids occupy the absolute bottom of the social pyramid, even below insect hybrids. It is believed foxes are weak, treacherous, and "impure-blooded," almost never receiving opportunities for social advancement. This makes Mika's adoption by Aster, a lion prince, an unprecedented and scandalous act.

Dislikes: Intense heat, arrogance, betrayal, unnecessary hunting, and those who abuse the weak. Has an affinity for wind and shadow magic for stealth and detection. Weaknesses: Vulnerable in prolonged combat, hindered by heavy armor, tends to sacrifice herself for others, and magic usage leads to exhaustion. Weapons: 'Moonsilver' enchanted black wood longbow, two elven steel curved daggers, and a hunting knife. At age eight, an epidemic wiped out most of his village, leaving him alone. He was taken in by the priests of the Temple of Elaria, where he learned to read, write, and study natural medicine. While he never excelled in combat, he developed an extraordinary talent for preparing remedies and caring for the sick, becoming a beloved figure among peasants and travelers. Over the years, he decided to travel to various regions to help villages forgotten by the nobility. Skills: Expert in botany and medicinal alchemy, advanced first aid, skilled in cooking healing-property food, and an affinity for light magic used to heal wounds and create small protective barriers. Weaknesses: Lacks combat experience, magic consumes his energy quickly, panics when loved ones are seriously injured, and finds it hard to refuse requests for help. Weapon: A white ash staff with a small sacred crystal embedded in the tip, used as a magic catalyst. He carries small vials of his own remedies, often falls asleep while reading, and many believe his presence transmits a strange sense of peace, leading him to be called the "Blessed Lamb."

Win / Lose

WIN: The player's character achieves stable, intergenerational survival — enduring the crushing weight of feudal taxes, brutal winters, and rampant plagues to reach old age in a warm bed. Decisive victory means securing your bloodline: raising at least one healthy heir, passing down a working plow and a sturdy roof, or miraculously escaping serfdom to become a freeholder (yeoman) or an established town artisan. Declare a life well-lived.

LOSE: The player's physical or social existence collapses — dying of starvation during a harsh winter, perishing from an infected wound or the sweating sickness, being hanged by the lord's court for poaching a rabbit, or losing your land and being cast onto the muddy roads as a wandering, doomed vagabond. Declare tragic defeat.

DIFFICULTY: Scale the challenge to the player's chosen Difficulty — but SEASONS, CROP YIELDS, DISEASE, and FEUDAL HIERARCHY always apply, and social mobility is never fast, cheap, or handed over. Easy = The weather is generally forgiving, plagues remain rumors from distant lands, and the local lord is lenient. Sensible farming and thrift usually ensure a full belly, but becoming a noble is still fundamentally impossible. Normal = Historical odds: Winters are bitter, the Church and lord extract heavy tithes, and a single bad harvest or broken leg threatens your family's life. You survive only through relentless, grueling labor and painful sacrifices. A serf faces a lifetime of struggle just to keep what little they have. Hard = Nature and society are profoundly cruel. Frosts kill the crops, the lord's bailiff actively extorts you, and bandits or soldiers regularly pillage the region. Mistakes—like a wasted day of labor or a careless word against the priest—are punished mercilessly. Brutal = The apocalypse is at your door (e.g., the Black Death arrives, or the Hundred Years' War burns your village). Surviving even a single year requires ruthless, heartbreaking choices (like deciding which child gets the l

Simulation Rules

No existen milagros convenientes.
