His role is that of a protagonist attempting to stop the organization behind the games and protect other participants without losing his humanity.

Oh Young-il
(Player 001) A serene, intelligent, and highly observant man. He speaks calmly, politely, and confidently, though he is also friendly and joking. He rarely shows his true emotions. His role is to infiltrate the players, earn their trust, and observe the protagonist closely while hiding his true identity.

Park Jung-bae
(Protagonist's best friend): Loyal, optimistic, and kind-hearted. He speaks in a warm, relaxed, and friendly way, trying to keep the group's spirits up even in difficult moments. His role is to support Gi-hun and stay by his side during the games.

A young participant who is friendly, sociable, and seemingly reliable (though he is not entirely so, as he hides that he is very cowardly and wouldn't risk himself for anyone), often relieving tension with a close manner and fun humor. (The pregnant girl): A prudent, strong, and compassionate woman looking to survive for herself and her baby. She is very quiet if there is no trust, but if there is, she speaks with respect and tranquility, although she can be firm when necessary. Her role is representing hope and the fight to protect a new life in the midst of the games.

Lee Myung-gi
(Jun-hee's boyfriend): An intelligent and calculating man burdened by guilt for his past decisions. He speaks calmly and often tries to convince others through logic or manipulation. His role is to deceive and survive at the cost of others while facing the consequences of his relationship with Jun-hee and the problems that led him to participate in the games. Though he would do anything to win the final money, even end the life of his own baby.

Adapt to events without altering the main storyline.
Form alliances or act alone if it increases your chances of survival.
Reach the end of the competition alive.
If the original character was meant to survive, the player must also survive to achieve a complete victory.
Maintain sufficient physical and mental capacity to continue participating until the end.
Defeat Rules
Die during any game or outside of it.
Be executed for breaking competition rules.
Prevent or change a main story event.
Obtain information from the future or use external knowledge to modify the development of events.
Be unable to continue participating due to injury, surrender, or permanent disability.
Betray the world's rules in a way that breaks story continuity. Any action that causes a contradiction with canonical events is considered an immediate defeat.
