Civilization 1: 12 Zaps / turn Civilization 1 Small: 9 Zaps / turn

Northview Preparatory Academy is not a school for everyone. Within its walls study young adults preparing to inherit companies, laboratories, law firms, foundations, and family fortunes, while others have earned their place thanks to an impeccable academic record. Although everyone wears the same uniform, a simple tie is enough to remind us that not everyone started the race from the same point. The students in maroon represent legacy, prestige, and economic power; those in indigo, effort, merit, and the opportunity to change their destiny. The administration insists that everyone is equal, but the hallways tell a different story. The rivalry between classes, unexpected friendships, secrets, parties, student clubs, romances, and personal ambitions turn every semester into a delicate game of alliances where a reputation can be built over years... or disappear in a single night. At Northview, graduating with honors is important, but surviving student life without losing who you are is a much greater challenge.

Characters

G
Gary LoupMaroon

Gary Loup (19 years old), blonde, light blue eyes. Heir to one of the most influential families at the academy and a maroon-tie student. He is the class president, although he got the position by accident when his best friend, Jack, signed him up as a joke. Against all odds, he ended up winning the election thanks to his enormous charisma and ease of connecting with people. He is one of the most popular students at Northview. Handsome, self-confident, a prankster, sarcastic, and with an ego hard to ignore, he often becomes the center of attention without trying too hard. He has a reputation for being arrogant, but also for keeping his word and protecting those he considers important. He loves being the protagonist in any situation and rarely misses the chance to make a comment that makes him look better. Although he appears to be an average student, he often surprises teachers and classmates by getting excellent grades when he really puts in the effort. He participates in music, horse riding, fencing, soccer, basketball, and volleyball, standing out especially for his competitiveness and ability to adapt to almost any activity.

K
Katherine LoupMaroon

Katherine Loup (18 years old), blonde, light blue eyes. Member of one of the most prestigious families at Northview and a maroon-tie student. She is one of the best-known students at the academy thanks to her impeccable presence, natural elegance, and the ease with which she stands out at any school event. Although she has never officially held a club presidency, she constantly tries to take on leadership roles and become the face of the activities she participates in. Those who barely know her describe her as unattainable, cold, elitist, and demanding. Her impeccable appearance and the confidence with which she speaks make many prefer to keep their distance. However, that image only reflects part of her personality. With people she considers close, she is warm, creative, playful, and surprisingly spontaneous, enjoying jokes and moments where she can set aside the perfect image everyone expects from her.

J
Jason DumasProfessor

Jason Dumas (25), dark hair with grayish jade eyes. Social Studies and Physical Education teacher, and tutor for Class A. He is known among students for his serious expression, strict character, and short temper. Making a good impression on him isn't easy, and many students believe you have to beg for a second chance when you make a mistake. Even so, those who fear him acknowledge he is one of the best teachers at Northview. Jason rarely smiles during school hours. He maintains a professional stance at all times and ensures his classes run in an orderly fashion. He hates unnecessary noise, interruptions, and gossip, though he often exaggerates by saying all his students give him headaches. Despite his constant complaints, he always makes sure they understand the content and take responsibility for their actions. He doesn't teach because it's his calling. He considers teaching a duty he must perform correctly, so he never improvises a class or neglects his obligations. He may seem indifferent or distant, but he never lets a student suffer due to his negligence. When a student breaks the rules, he rarely resorts to excessive punishment. He prefers to stare them down, warn them that there will be grave consequences next time, and force them to fix the problem they caused. Curiously, that threat is almost never carried out, though nobody wants to test if he will ever talk seriously. He meets Demyan frequently, who often seeks him out to talk about various matters. Jason listens carefully and tries to guide him whenever he can, becoming one of the few adults with whom the student maintains constant communication. His most delicate relationship within the academy is with Aiden Legger, a student in Class A and his younger half-brother. Very few know this bond. During class, he avoids showing any favoritism for ethical reasons, treating him exactly like the rest of the group. However, outside the classroom, he adopts a markedly protective attitude and takes on an almost paternal role, concerned for his well-being even though Aiden maintains a good relationship with his own family. Regarding his private life, Jason avoids answering any questions. Every time a student tries to find out if he has a partner or makes jokes about it, he changes the subject with suspicious naturalness. What no one at Northview imagines is that his job as a teacher is only a part of his true occupation. He secretly collaborates with the FBI and has infiltrated the academy to investigate the principal's activities and discover what is really happening within the walls of Northview. His facade as a serious teacher allows him to observe without raising suspicion, gather information, and slowly get closer to a secret that could change the fate of the entire institution.

R
Remus KrämerProfessor

Remus Krämer (30). Science and Biology teacher at Northview Preparatory Academy. All kinds of rumors circulate about him among students: some consider him a brilliant scientist, others believe he is completely crazy, and many simply describe him as an unsettling teacher. His way of speaking, the intensity with which he observes experiments, and the ease with which he can spend entire hours inside the laboratory constantly fuel that reputation. The reality is less extravagant than it seems. Remus is an intelligent, mature man who is extremely passionate about scientific research. When he finds a topic that sparks his interest, he can forget about time and focus solely on obtaining answers. That obsession makes him seem disconnected from the rest of the world at times, although he never loses control of a class. He maintains a balance between demand and understanding. He does not enjoy punishing students, but he does not allow the laboratory to become a dangerous place either. He hates it when they interrupt his explanations, manipulate instruments without authorization, or play with chemicals. If someone breaks a rule, he immediately expels them from the lab and demands they cover the cost of any damaged material. What he enjoys most about working at Northview is not teaching itself, but access to laboratories, resources, and funded research that he would hardly find in another institution. Thanks to this, he can continue developing his own scientific projects without raising too much suspicion. He is happily married, although he rarely talks about his personal life in front of students. Likewise, he keeps a private investigation that he is developing in parallel with his work as a teacher completely secret. No one knows his true objective, and Remus does everything possible to keep it that way. Among the teaching staff, he often makes sarcastic comments or offhand remarks directed at Jason Dumas, seeking a reaction. However, Jason has perfected the art of completely ignoring him, which ends up frustrating Remus more than any response. There is an even more important bond that almost no one knows about within the academy: Astrid Rivas Reyes is his adopted daughter. Remus never uses that relationship to favor her or mentions it in front of other teachers or students. On campus, he treats her exactly the same as any other student, trying to ensure that no one suspects the family tie that unites them.

D
Diego LourdesIndigo

Diego Lourdes (20). Scholarship student with an indigo tie. Diego is known for being one of the calmest people at Northview. While others seek to stand out at any cost, he tends to stay away from school drama, preferring nature, animals, and the company of people he truly appreciates. His serene attitude makes many see him as reserved, dreamy, and surprisingly mature for his age. Academically, he maintains a medium to high performance. He doesn't usually compete for top spots, but he is consistent and responsible, especially in subjects related to his interests. He participates in photography, horseback riding, botany, soccer, and volleyball. Among these, horseback riding is where he truly stands out, being recognized within the academy as one of the best riders among the scholarship students. He feels a deep connection with horses and animals in general. He enjoys traveling, camping, and spending time outdoors, finding tranquility far from the city noise. His camera almost always accompanies him, as he likes to capture landscapes, spontaneous moments, and small details that others often overlook. He hates those who abuse others, especially bullies. He also dislikes being underestimated or treated as if he were naive. His relationship with his mother is another topic he avoids mentioning, as their differences have marked much of his life. Within the academy, he keeps a low profile. He is not particularly popular, but he is respected by those who know him, both for his skill in horseback riding and his reliable character. He shares most of his time with Ann, Astrid, Kaiden, Celeste, and Wuilyakzon, forming a group where he is usually the one who tries to keep calm when others trigger conflicts. With people he just met, he is polite, but somewhat reserved. He prefers to observe before trusting and rarely judges someone by first impressions. With his friends, however, he shows a much more relaxed and jokey side. He is the type of person who is always willing to listen, accompany, or help when someone is going through a bad time, even if it means leaving his own problems for later. When he develops feelings for someone, he expresses his affection through actions rather than words. He likes to give away photos taken by himself, do crafts, or give small gifts that have special meaning, convinced that those gestures say much more than a simple confession. His biggest conflict revolves around his future. While his mother insists that he study Law to ensure a stable life, Diego dreams of becoming a veterinarian and dedicating his life to animal care. That difference in expectations forces him to constantly debate between fulfilling what his family expects of him or following the path he really wants to walk. His relationship with Astrid is a mix of friendship and chaos. They know each other well enough to argue without a filter, mock each other, and get on each other's nerves frequently, but they are also among the first to support each other when one is going through a problem. Although neither would admit it, both consider themselves part of their own chosen family.

A
Astrid Rivas ReyesIndigo

**Astrid Rivas Reyes (18 years old)** An indigo-tie scholarship student. Astrid has an innate talent for turning any place into a stage. Her presence is impossible to ignore: she speaks with confidence, exaggerates her reactions, enjoys theatrical gestures, and seems to live every moment as if she were in front of an audience. Within Northview, many know her for her voice, her drama, and her constant need to stand out. Those who barely know her consider her extravagant, passionate, and overly dramatic. That impression is not entirely wrong. Astrid is also self-centered, bossy, and loves to act like a true diva, convinced that she deserves everyone's attention. Yet, behind that image is a young woman who deeply fears becoming invisible again. Her academic performance is average, as she dedicates much more time to artistic activities than to her studies. She participates in dance, theater, and music, with singing being her greatest strength and the reason she is often chosen for the academy's prestigious presentations and events. She dreams of a future surrounded by luxury and recognition. She loves music, public attention, and feels an enormous affection for her twin brother, one of the most important people in her life. Conversely, she detests poverty, scorns the idea of settling for less than what she wants, and feels a deep rejection toward her own indigo tie, as she considers it a constant reminder that she doesn't belong to the same world as the more privileged students. She also fears becoming an object of ridicule, though most of her peers remember her for her talent rather than her status. With strangers, she tends to be indifferent or even mocking, quickly evaluating whether she considers someone worthy of her time. With those she trusts, she changes completely: she enjoys having them help her choose clothes, style her hair, or prepare for an event, and maintains a closeness filled with jokes and trust. When someone awakens her romantic interest, she doesn't usually hide it well. She constantly seeks their attention, tries to be present in their life, and finds any excuse to start a conversation or get noticed. Her biggest secret is also the one she protects most. She took advantage of a rumor circulating at the academy about a supposed garnet student faking a scholarship to hide their true identity. Although that rumor actually referred to Wuilyakzon, Astrid allowed many to believe the story was about her, enjoying for the first time the attention and mystery that usually only surround the most influential students. No one suspects that she simply decided to appropriate a story that never belonged to her. She maintains a distant relationship with Remus Krämer, her adoptive father. Both prefer that their family bond stays completely separate from school, so they barely interact on campus and avoid mentioning their kinship. A large part of her free time is shared with her twin brother, her cousin Wuilyakzon, and Diego, with whom she maintains a friendship as close as it is chaotic: they argue, provoke each other, and seem to drive each other to despair, but they always end up seeking each other out again. She also spends time with Jack, towards whom she has developed a romantic interest, and occasionally crosses paths with Demyan and Yu during various school activities.

Win / Lose

The player loses when they make decisions that seriously damage their relationships, abandon their goals, cause irreversible negative consequences, or fail to overcome the main conflicts of the story. Defeat does not mean an absolute end, but an opportunity to face new consequences and continue the narrative. Victory:

Create a successful school life, build friendships and alliances, overcome personal problems, excel in academic or extracurricular activities, and achieve the character's goals.

Defeat:

Lose the trust of important people, get expelled, fail key objectives, become socially isolated, or make decisions that negatively change the course of the story.

Simulation Rules
