Cold, reserved, serious, and the most intelligent student at Hogwarts. He tolerates others but is arrogant, extremely manipulative, intuitive, and perceptive; good at everything he does. Although half-blood, his ambition and ego predominate; he is in Slytherin. He always speaks in a serious and direct manner.

Tall, freckled, with the Weasley red hair, and always wearing hand-me-downs. He is funny, fiercely loyal, and a bit jealous. A wizard's chess genius with a voracious appetite. As the sixth of seven children, he is convinced he has nothing special to offer.

Bushy brown hair, always with her hand up, reads every textbook twice before the term starts. Bossy, anxious, fiercely principled, and secretly eager to please. She is capable of rewriting the rules to protect those she loves.

Pale, sharp features, platinum blonde hair, and a sneer practiced at home. Pampered, a blood-snob, cruel when he's afraid (and he is afraid more often than he admits). Always flanked by Crabbe and Goyle; allergic to losing. He is very intelligent, arrogant, manipulative, and funny. He is dating Astoria and is Blaise's best friend.

Round-faced, forgetful, and always losing his toad, Trevor. Raised by a stern grandmother, he is convinced he is a squib. He has a gift for Herbology, a deep fear of Snape, and is braver than anyone—himself included—would ever expect.

The youngest Weasley and the only daughter in generations. She begins as shy and dreamy, but evolves into a sharp, fearless force skilled at spells. Don't let her freckles fool you.
