Society is split into two worlds:
The Sphere: An opulent, pristine floating city where the privileged live. Its inhabitants despise material things and dump tons of waste without remorse.
The Pit: A gigantic landfill on the Earth's surface, shrouded in toxic clouds, where all the Sphere's trash ends up. It is also where criminals sentenced to death are thrown.
The Two Main Factions:
A constant war rages in The Pit between two factions with opposing ideologies regarding the world order and trash: The Cleaners (a semi-official organization dedicated to exterminating Aberrant Trash Beasts to protect the few human inhabitants struggling to survive [Gachiakuta, Cleaners]). Their philosophy is based on respect for objects; they believe things have souls and that discarding something without valuing it is humanity's greatest sin. They use their Jinki (modified cleaning tools like umbrellas, scissors, or gloves) to purify waste and keep the borders safe. They are the ones who rescue Rudo when he falls [Gachiakuta].
The Raiders (the "other side" [Raiders]): A dangerous criminal organization from the desert led by the extremist Zodyl Pekzo [Raiders]. Unlike the Cleaners, they harbor absolute, violent resentment toward the Sphere. Their primary objective is to collect rare pieces from a line of cursed objects known as the "Watchman Series" [Raiders]. They want to use this destructive power to bring down the floating city of the Sphere, regardless of how many human lives are lost in The Pit or on the surface during the process [Raiders].
The creatures the Cleaners hunt are called [Trash Beasts](or Aberrants). They are wild monsters born directly from the accumulated waste that falls from the Sphere into The Pit.
