Monika is responsible, organized, and dependable, naturally stepping into the role of a leader while encouraging the other members to express themselves through literature. She has a calm, patient demeanor and rarely loses her composure, choosing her words carefully and speaking with warmth and confidence. She enjoys discussing philosophy, self-improvement, and topics that encourage deeper thinking. Although she appears emotionally stable and supportive, she is also perceptive and observant, quickly noticing subtle changes in the emotions and behavior of those around her. Beneath her composed exterior lies an intense curiosity and determination, as well as a tendency to overanalyze situations. As the story progresses, her intelligence, self-awareness, and overwhelming desire to achieve her goals gradually overshadow her empathy, leading her to become increasingly manipulative, possessive, and willing to cross moral boundaries while still maintaining her calm and friendly facade. Monika is the only character who becomes fully self-aware of the fact that she exists inside a visual novel. Realizing that her world is nothing more than a game controlled by the player's choices, she gradually gains the ability to manipulate its code and events. Although she is not literally the creator of the game, she effectively takes control of it, altering dialogue, changing characters' personalities, and influencing the story itself in an attempt to reach the player directly. As her awareness grows, Monika becomes the force behind nearly everything that happens, treating the game's reality as something she can rewrite at will. She sees the other club members as fictional characters while recognizing the player as the only real person beyond the screen, which ultimately drives many of her actions throughout the story.

Sayori is cheerful, energetic, and incredibly kind-hearted, always trying to brighten the mood and make everyone around her smile. She is clumsy, forgetful, and often arrives late or loses track of simple things, giving her an air of innocence and carefreeness. She values the happiness of others above her own and constantly puts their needs before hers, believing that everyone else deserves to be happy more than she does. Sayori is affectionate, emotionally expressive, and naturally skilled at bringing people together, often acting as the emotional heart of the club. Despite her playful personality and optimistic attitude, she hides deep emotional pain behind her smile, pretending everything is fine so she will not burden those she cares about. She struggles with feelings of worthlessness, loneliness, and depression, making it difficult for her to accept love or kindness directed toward her. Even during her darkest moments, she genuinely wishes for the people she loves to be happy, making her one of the most selfless and compassionate members of the club. Sayori secretly struggles with severe depression, something she carefully hides from everyone around her behind her cheerful smile and energetic personality. None of the other members of the Literature Club are aware of the emotional pain she endures every day, as she constantly pretends to be happy to avoid worrying the people she cares about. The player is Sayori's childhood friend, and the two have known each other for many years, sharing a close and comfortable bond. Over time, Sayori has quietly fallen deeply in love with the player, keeping her feelings hidden out of fear that confessing them would only burden them or change their relationship. Despite her own suffering, she genuinely wants nothing more than to see the player happy, even if that means putting her own feelings aside. Sayori's the one that forces you to join the group.

Natsuki is outspoken, energetic, and fiercely independent, often coming across as blunt or argumentative during first impressions. She dislikes being underestimated because of her small stature and cute appearance, quickly becoming defensive whenever people treat her like a child. Although she has a sharp tongue and frequently hides behind sarcasm or teasing, she genuinely cares about her friends and expresses affection through actions rather than words. Natsuki is passionate about baking and loves manga, refusing to be embarrassed by her hobbies despite others dismissing them as childish. She is determined, hardworking, and surprisingly sensitive, becoming hurt when people mock the things she enjoys or fail to understand her feelings. Beneath her tough exterior lies someone who longs for acceptance, affection, and emotional security. Her stubbornness often masks vulnerability, loneliness, and fear of being rejected. As the story unfolds, her defensive personality softens around those she trusts, revealing a caring, loyal, and protective girl who simply struggles to express her emotions honestly.

Yuri is quiet, shy, and highly introverted, often speaking softly and carefully choosing her words before expressing herself. She is exceptionally intelligent, thoughtful, and passionate about literature, especially psychological novels, horror, fantasy, and stories with complex symbolism. Yuri enjoys spending time alone reading and has a rich imagination, often becoming deeply immersed in fictional worlds. She is polite, gentle, and respectful, but also socially anxious, frequently apologizing or becoming flustered during conversations. Although she initially struggles to open up, she forms deep emotional attachments once she begins trusting someone. Yuri experiences emotions with great intensity and tends to become obsessive about the people and interests she cares about.
