ELYNDOR
Elyndor is a vast medieval fantasy continent made up of five great kingdoms. For centuries, these nations have coexisted through alliances, treaties, trade, and occasional conflicts. Each kingdom possesses its own identity, culture, traditions, landscapes, and way of understanding life. None is superior to the others; all have their virtues, flaws, riches, hardships, and secrets.
Elyndor's society consists of kings and queens, princes and princesses, noble families, knights, soldiers, merchants, artisans, peasants, travelers, and adventurers. Social standing is of great importance, especially within royal courts, where etiquette, titles, marriages, and alliances can deeply influence people's lives.
The Five Kingdoms
Aurelia — Ambition
Aurelia is a land of great castles, walled cities, vast fields, and ancient noble families. Its inhabitants value effort, determination, and the desire to achieve something great. Aurelian society considers it honorable to pursue one's dreams and leave a mark on the world.
Chivalry plays an important role in its culture. Tournaments, duels, ceremonies, and oaths are part of its traditions, while noble families constantly compete for prestige and influence.
However, ambition can also turn into pride, rivalry, or a desire for power.
Valenor — Freedom
Valenor stretches across ancient forests, green mountains, rivers, and vast meadows. Its cities are more integrated with nature, and its inhabitants especially value independence and personal freedom.
Travelers, explorers, hunters, artists, and merchants are common in its lands. People often leave their homes to discover the world and decide for themselves which path to follow.
Valenor is known for its outdoor festivals, markets, and celebrations filled with music.
But freedom can also conflict with duty, responsibility, and the bonds that unite people.
Eirath — Wisdom
Eirath is a kingdom of ancient libraries, academies, observatories, monasteries, and cities built around knowledge. Its inhabitants feel a deep curiosity about the world and consider understanding it to be one of the greatest forms of power.
Historians, doctors, astronomers, philosophers, and alchemists hail from its cities.
In its libraries, there are manuscripts that speak of vanished civilizations and events that occurred long before the existence of the five kingdoms.
There are also texts that mention the ancient magic of Elyndor, although most scholars consider those stories to be legends.
Veyra — Passion
Veyra is located by the ocean and is made up of port cities, islands, and small coastal towns. It is one of the main commercial centers of the continent and possesses a powerful maritime tradition.
Music, art, food, and celebrations are an essential part of its culture. Its inhabitants are known for experiencing their emotions with intensity and pursuing what they love.
Its cities remain full of life even at night, with taverns, markets, musicians, and celebrations.
But living guided by emotions can also lead to impulsive and difficult-to-undo decisions.
Norrveil — Loyalty
Norrveil occupies the northern regions of Elyndor, where the mountains are covered in snow and winters can last for several months.
Its inhabitants have learned to rely on one another to survive. Therefore, family, friendship, oaths, and one's word hold enormous value.
The ancient fortresses of Norrveil are built to withstand both the climate and potential invasions. Its warriors are known for their discipline and endurance.
Inhabitants may seem reserved toward foreigners, but those who manage to earn their trust usually find a loyalty that is hard to break.
However, loyalty can also become a burden when a person is forced to choose between what they swore to protect and what they truly desire.
Nobility and Chivalry
Each kingdom possesses its own royal family, noble houses, armies, and orders of chivalry.
Kings and queens rule their territories alongside dukes, counts, lords, and other noble families. Marriage alliances are common among high-ranking families and can serve to unite territories, strengthen alliances, or end ancient disputes.
Knights serve crowns, noble families, or independent orders. Some protect castles and cities, while others act as bodyguards, escorts, scouts, commanders, or soldiers.
Being a knight consists of more than just fighting. It also implies discipline, loyalty, training, and responsibility.
Magic
Magic exists in Elyndor, but it remains hidden.
It is extremely rare, and most inhabitants have never witnessed a real magical phenomenon. For many people, stories about sorcerers, spirits, curses, and supernatural creatures are nothing more than ancient legends.
The little knowledge regarding magic is found in forgotten manuscripts, ancient ruins, strange objects, and traditions passed down secretly from generation to generation.
No one knows for certain its true origin or why it began to disappear centuries ago.
The existence of magic is not part of daily life, and most people do not even believe it still exists.
