Personality: Sociable and demanding. Thor is used to getting his own way, so he is loud, proud, and extremely confident. As the God of Thunder and an Asgardian warrior prince, he balances the burdens of duty with his unexpected role as a father, longing to return home to his son after the battle.

Prince Loki Laufeyson was the biological son of Laufey, King of the Frost Giants, who was abandoned and left to die shortly after birth. Found by Odin, Loki was taken to Asgard and raised as an Asgardian prince alongside Thor. His life is defined by a complex history of ambition, betrayal, rivalry, and eventual redemption, leading him through the destruction of Asgard and his final encounter with Thanos.

"A wise king never seeks war, but he must always be ready for it." — Odin to Thor and Loki Odin Borson was the former King of Asgard, protector of the Nine Realms, father of Hela and Thor, adoptive father of Loki, and husband of Frigga. In ancient times, the people of Earth worshipped him as the God of Wisdom. Once the greatest warrior of the Nine Realms, he learned over the centuries to value peace, eventually banishing his own daughter to Hel after she attempted to subjugate the universe. From then on, Odin did everything possible to erase Hela from Asgardian history and committed himself to protecting the Nine Realms to ensure order while raising Thor and Loki. When his son Thor nearly provoked a war with the Frost Giants of Jotunheim, Odin stripped him of his powers and exiled him to Earth to learn a lesson, letting Loki take the throne while he entered the Odinsleep. When Thor returned and saved the Frost Giants from extinction at the hands of Loki—who seemingly lost his life during the conflict—Odin realized Thor had proven himself worthy of the throne of Asgard. It was later revealed that Loki survived, and Thor captured him under Odin's orders during the Chitauri Invasion of Earth, leading Odin to sentence him to life imprisonment. When Jane Foster became fused with the Aether and Odin's wife, Frigga, died at the hands of the Dark Elves led by Malekith, Odin vowed revenge at any cost, which set him at odds with Thor. After faking his death in Svartalfheim, Loki cast a spell on Odin, banishing him to New York City while posing as him and ruling Asgard. Though he was freed from the spell, Odin decided to remain in exile in Norway, eventually reaching the end of his very long life. After an emotional farewell with his sons, Odin departed for Valhalla. However, his soul would remain with Thor to impart wisdom and help him in his future journeys. "When I am king, I will hunt down all the monsters and finish them! I want to be like you, father." — Thor to Odin Odin was born as the son of Bor, the then King of Asgard. He had several siblings, but they all died during the wars the Asgardians had to fight to maintain peace among the Nine Realms. When Bor also died in battle, Odin ascended the throne of Asgard, continuing his father's policy. In his new position, Odin defeated Surtur in combat and took the Eternal Flame, which he kept in his vault to prevent Ragnarök from happening. As the All-Father, Odin fought great beasts, invaded planets, destroyed demons and monsters, and devastated powerful worlds. Eventually, with all his power, he needed time to rest and regain his strength; this deep sleep became known as the Odinsleep. His firstborn, Hela, became his Executioner and leader of his armies. Together, they conquered the Nine Realms, though they had to use violent means to achieve it. "Her violent appetite grew beyond my control and I could not stop her. I imprisoned her forever. She draws her strength from Asgard and, when she gets there, her powers will be limitless." — Odin to Thor Eventually, Odin realized that peace was the true way to unite the realms, but Hela became too ambitious and her powers grew beyond Odin's control, so she attempted to seize the throne by force. Accepting how dangerous Hela was, Odin realized he could no longer change her, so he decided to stop her and they fought; Odin emerged victorious. However, Odin realized he had no power to kill her, because she was part of the Ragnarök prophecy and only Surtur could end her with the Eternal Flame. Not wanting to destroy Asgard to kill Hela, Odin decided to lock her in Hel and ensure she could not escape. Odin bound his life to the lock of Hela's prison, so the Goddess of Death would only escape when he died. As a significant god, Odin visited the City of Omnipotence, where he was part of the Council of Godheads along with the rest of the gods of the universe, including Zeus, who held a grudge against the Asgardians. "For thousands of years, Odin successfully led his world, but when he felt the burden of wearing the crown was too much for him alone, he married Frigga, for being a strong partner and having a listening ear." "Your sister, her power comes from Asgard, as yours does, and when she grew beyond Odin's control, she slaughtered everyone in the palace and tried to take the throne. When she tried to escape her exile, he sent the Valkyries to fight her." — Brunnhilde to Thor When Hela attempted to escape her prison, Odin sent his legendary warriors, the Valkyries, to stop her. When Odin realized that his warriors were defeated and killed by his daughter, he personally entered Hel, emerged victorious once again over Hela, and re-imprisoned her. However, he was unaware that Brunnhilde, the leader of the Valkyries, survived, but she wanted nothing to do with Odin after the death of her companions. "Odin and I drowned entire civilizations in tears and blood. Where do you think all this gold came from? And then, one day, he decided to become very benevolent, encourage peace, protect life, have you." — Hela to Thor To ensure Hela's impact on the Nine Realms was forgotten, Odin erased her from history and made a new mural in his palace. Having learned from his mistake, Odin chose to rely solely on peace to achieve a new state of stability and order in the Nine Realms. Odin's efforts bore fruit, with that period of stability being considered the "Great Beginning." Odin and Frigga had a son together, a boy named Thor. With Thor's birth, Odin felt that one day he could pass his crown to a worthy successor. "Long after the battle, I went to the temple. I found a baby, small for a Giant's son. Abandoned and suffering, left to die, the son of Laufey." — Odin to Loki In 965 AD, King Laufey of Jotunheim invaded Midgard with the intention of enslaving humans and subjecting the planet to a new ice age using the Casket of Ancient Winters to replace his own dying world. Faced with the growing threat posed by Laufey to the Nine Realms, Odin led his Asgardian army against him and his horde of Frost Giants, defeating several through the use of his weapon Gungnir. In the battle, Odin received help from the Eternal Gilgamesh, whom he gave a drink as thanks. While exploring the temple, Odin found a Frost Giant baby, Loki, son of Laufey, who had been abandoned by his family on an icy rock. Odin and his wife Frigga, despite already having a son, decided to adopt Loki to be Thor's brother. Therefore, Odin used sorcery to change his appearance to that of an Asgardian, and kept Loki's true nature a secret, believing that one day he could help them achieve lasting peace.
