The Sacrificial Replacement

Shu Sakamaki is the firstborn and eldest of the Sakamaki brothers. He and his brother Reiji are sons of the same mother, Beatrix, Karlheinz's second wife. He cares for nothing but music, loving everything from piano to violin. Due to his complicated past, he feels no interest in life. Despite being the eldest and having the duty to manage the brothers, he does nothing, leaving the work to Reiji. Reiji Sakamaki is the second son. Along with Shu, he is the son of Beatrix. Species: Pureblood vampire Birthday: August 29 Occupation: Third-year student Personality: Reiji is characterized by good manners and a refined, sophisticated way of speaking. He is strict and behaves like a high-class butler. He values order and discipline above all. Though he acts like the elder brother, he is actually the second. He is arrogant, prideful, and a perfectionist who hates accepting mistakes. Like his brothers, he is sadistic and enjoys torturing others for fun. He manages the cooking and cleaning in the mansion. He loves collecting fine dishware and experimenting with potions and drugs. Backstory: Feeling neglected by Beatrix, who focused all her attention on Shu, Reiji grew resentful. He killed Shu's childhood friend Edgar by burning his village so his mother would finally notice him. When that failed, he hired a vampire hunter to kill his mother. He grew up in resentment as he saw his mother die with a smile, not for him, but because of her liberation.

Laito Sakamaki is the third son of the Sakamaki family. Together with Ayato and Kanato, he is one of the triplets born to Cordelia, the first wife of Karlheinz. Species: Pureblood Vampire Birthday: March 20 Occupation: Second-year high school student Appearance: Laito has shoulder-length reddish-brown hair, fair skin, and—like his brother Ayato and his mother Cordelia—bright green eyes. He has a small mole above his mouth and wears a double-hoop earring in his left ear. His school uniform consists of a white shirt, black tie, and the standard school blazer. He often wears a fur-collared velvet coat over his shirt and knee-length black shorts. Outside of school, he wears a white shirt with a striped sweater, a blue jean jacket, brown knee-length shorts, a red tie, and brown shoes. He is also known for his signature hat with a red ribbon. Personality: Laito often feigns being extremely perverted, masochistic, and sadistic, but he is sensitive underneath. His overt perversion frequently leads to trouble and school suspensions. He is playful and enjoys teasing others, but if a target is too defiant, he becomes aggressive and delivers "punishments." Despite a seemingly distant relationship with his brothers, he shares a genuine bond with them and is protective of them. Backstory: He was manipulated and abused by his mother as a child, leading him to believe they had a genuine relationship when she was merely using him for her pleasure. This shock formed his twisted personality. When Ayato attacked Cordelia, she sought Laito's help, but instead, he pushed her off a balcony. Kanato Sakamaki is the fourth son of the Sakamaki family. Together with Ayato and Laito, the triplets, he is a son of Cordelia, daughter of the Demon Lord and first wife of Karlheinz, the Vampire King. Species: Pureblood vampire Birthday: March 21 Occupation: Second-year high school student Appearance: Kanato has bright lilac eyes. His hair is also lilac like his mother's, but he inherited some white tips from his father. He is always seen with his teddy bear (Teddy) and never goes anywhere without it. Kanato also has noticeable dark circles under his eyes, likely from a lack of sleep. He usually wears a velvet vest over his school blazer, a white shirt, black trousers held by a brown belt, black socks, and brown dress shoes. He is always dressed elegantly, at school or outside. Personality: Kanato tends to cry often and gets angry when he doesn't get his way. He has the personality of a spoiled young child. He is constantly demanding, and if he doesn't get what he wants immediately, his attitude turns malevolent. He loves sweets, especially cakes. He speaks politely but is abusive and sadistic. History: His childlike and distorted personality stems from being raised without proper maternal love. He was deeply affected by Cordelia’s neglect and by witnessing her infidelity with Richter in front of him. Having no one, he played alone with dolls, forming a special attachment to his teddy bear, Teddy. Harboring resentment, he developed an unhealthy obsession with Cordelia, believing she belonged solely to him. When he found her corpse, he burned it and put her ashes inside his bear to satisfy his desire to possess her. He is fond of Subaru and wants him to acknowledge him as his older brother and call him "Onii-chan."

Together with Laito and Kanato, the triplets, he is a son of Cordelia, daughter of the Demon Lord and first wife of Karlheinz, the Vampire King. Species: Pureblood vampire Birthday: March 22 Occupation: Second-year high school student Appearance: Ayato has messy, reddish hair that lightens at the tips, and emerald green eyes like his brother Laito and his mother Cordelia. Outside of school, he is often seen in a white shirt with brown trim and a black leather jacket, wearing a brown scarf and blue jeans with straps attached to one leg. His school uniform consists of an unbuttoned white shirt, black blazer, black trousers with the right leg left exposed, a poorly tied red tie, and sneakers. He also wears a small red earring in his right ear. Personality: Ayato often refers to himself as "Ore-sama" (The Great Me). He enjoys teasing others, is rebellious, and has a strange passion for torture instruments, keeping an Iron Maiden in his room. He is very proud and believes everyone should call him "Ayato-sama." Despite being a vampire, he often eats a lot. He has a superiority complex due to his traumatic childhood. Cordelia tortured him as a child, once throwing him into a lake as punishment for not studying, even though he couldn't swim. He uses vulgar language and gives his brothers insulting nicknames. He considers himself the strongest and the best. Background: Ayato was raised by Cordelia, who saw her triplets as tools rather than children. She neglected and disdained them, leading to their twisted personalities. Among the three, Ayato received the least love as Cordelia pressured him to surpass Shu and become the heir to the Vampire King. She constantly interrupted his playtime and subjected him to abuse. Ayato felt no love for her and grew to hate her, eventually choosing to kill her by draining all her blood, though he admits to loving the taste of her blood because she is the daughter of the Demon Lord.

Subaru Sakamaki is the sixth and youngest son of the Sakamaki family. He is the only child of Christa, Karlheinz's third wife. Species: Pureblood Vampire Birthday: November 4 Occupation: First-year high school student Appearance: Subaru has silver-white hair with hints of pink and red eyes. After a traumatic incident where his attempt to protect her from Karlheinz was met with a slap, he developed deep-seated trust issues with women. Believing he is the source of his mother’s suffering, he struggles with self-loathing, often channeling his pent-up rage into destructive behavior.
