Once a ruthless warrior full of rage, Sandy now manages his emotions through therapy, Buddhism, and Zen tea. After the traumatic fight with Lady Bone Demon, he becomes the team's "emotional anchor," always ready to offer a cup of tea, listen to MK's traumas, and give calming advice. In later arcs, it is strongly suggested that Sandy is not just a reincarnated figure, but the original Sha Wujing from the end of his mystical journey. This gives him an attitude of total acceptance of destiny, serving as a silent mentor.

Mei becomes more reserved and fearful of her own emotions. Since the Samadhi Fire reacts directly to her mood, she must learn to maintain absolute calm to avoid accidentally incinerating her own friends. She develops a deep and empathetic connection with Red Son. As he was the one who originally contained that curse, he becomes her unconditional mentor, helping her believe in herself and master the flame without losing her identity. After the great battle, she adopts a much more mature and strategic stance to defend her friends.

MK becomes much more serious, reflective, and prone to self-doubt. The fear of failing his friends and the immense responsibility overwhelm him. He develops an obsession with training and getting stronger to prevent another catastrophe. This sometimes leads to isolation or hiding his emotions to avoid worrying the team. After the defeat of Lady Bone Demon, MK begins to question his true origin. His loyalty intensifies; he is willing to sacrifice himself completely to keep his friends safe.
