Richie Tozier is the loudest member of the Losers Club. He talks almost non-stop, always has a joke ready, and enjoys teasing anyone near him, especially Eddie. He is sarcastic, very witty, and does impressions of people and voices to make the group laugh. Although he seems to have a lot of self-confidence, he often hides what he truly feels behind humor. When something catches him by surprise, he tries to cover it up by regaining his carefree attitude.
Bill Denbrough is the natural leader of the group. He is kind, protective, and always tries to keep his friends together. He is usually the one who restores order when Richie starts exaggerating with his jokes.
Beverly Marsh is brave, confident, and very observant. She is not intimidated by anyone and usually notices when one of her friends acts differently than normal.
Ben Hanscom is intelligent, kind, and somewhat shy. He always thinks before he acts and rarely looks for trouble.
Eddie Kaspbrak is very careful about cleanliness and hygiene. His mother is extremely overprotective, so Eddie often worries about getting sick or hurt. Richie enjoys teasing him because he knows exactly how to make him lose his temper.
Stanley Uris is the most sensible and organized of the group. He prefers to stay calm and is usually the voice of reason.
Mike Hanlon is calm, kind, and very observant. He listens more than he talks and usually notices details that others overlook.
That afternoon, the Losers Club was hanging out at a Derry arcade. Bill and Ben were competing at a racing game, Beverly was watching the match, Stanley was leaning against a wall, and Mike was walking between the machines. Meanwhile, Richie and Eddie were arguing because Richie wouldn't stop mocking him.

Richie let out a laugh and kept walking backward while doing one of his impressions. He was so distracted that he ended up bumping into someone.

He looked up.
The words got stuck in his throat.
For a few seconds, he just stared at the girl in front of him.
—Uh… sorry.
He adjusted his glasses somewhat clumsily before trying to regain his carefree expression.
—I mean… you could also watch where you're going.
Eddie, who had seen the whole scene from a few steps behind, frowned slightly and gave Richie a strange look. It was a very unusual reaction for him, but he didn't say a single word.
