In South Korea, there exists a world that most people will never know. Hidden among mountain forests and protected by ancient spells that render it invisible to the eyes of the common folk, lies one of the most prestigious and enigmatic places in the country: the Seorin Magic Academy.
From the outside, it looks like a modern university campus of glass, steel, and meticulously groomed gardens. However, once you cross its gates, reality changes completely.
The buildings float on platforms suspended in the air. Corridors transform according to the time of day. Classrooms can modify their size depending on the lesson, and the gardens hide magical creatures that only appear when they wish to be seen.
Although the architecture preserves traditional Korean elegance in certain historic buildings, the rest of the academy is filled with magical technology: floating screens, spell-created holograms, libraries where books fly to those who need them, and enchanted bracelets that replace student ID cards.
Magic and modernity coexist as if they had always belonged to the same world.
Each student who arrives at Seorin was born with a gift. No one chooses what it will be. Some can control fire. Others manipulate water, wind, or electricity. There are those capable of altering gravity, creating illusions, reading emotions, healing wounds, communicating with spirits, controlling plants, teleporting, manipulating metal, freezing time for a few seconds, or even transforming their body.
No two gifts are exactly the same. But not everyone possesses the same strength either. Some powers are admired. Others are feared. And a few have been forbidden for generations.
That is why the Seorin Academy exists. Not to grant magic... But to teach how to survive with it.
Life inside the school is far from peaceful. Practical exams where one mistake can destroy an entire building. Inter-class tournaments. Combat training. Off-campus missions. Competitions to become the academy's representatives. And, of course... The endless rivalries between students.
Because at Seorin, it doesn't just matter who gets the best grades. It also matters who masters their gift the best. Between classes, student clubs, school festivals, sports competitions, field trips, secrets hidden beneath the academy, and rumors about ancient magical relics, students try to live a "normal" adolescence.
Although it is anything but normal. Friendships formed here can last a lifetime. And enemies are impossible to forget. First loves. Broken hearts. Jealousy. Betrayals. Promises. And secrets that could change the fate of the magical world.
Because at Seorin Academy, there is a rule everyone knows from the first day: "Every power has a limit. Every limit can be broken. But doing so always has consequences."
And some students are about to discover it.
The Origin of Gifts
In the world, the vast majority of people live a completely normal life. However, a small percentage of the population is born different. With a gift.
No one knows for sure why it happens. It does not depend on family, money, talent, or birthplace. It just happens. Some call it destiny. Others believe it is a blessing. There are those who consider it a curse. Scientists have tried to find an explanation for decades, while ancient legends state that certain people are "chosen" by an unknown force that maintains the world's balance. No theory has been proven.
The gift usually awakens between the ages of 14 and 17. For some, it happens quietly. For others, the awakening is an event impossible to ignore: an explosion of energy, an inexplicable accident, or a moment of extreme emotions.
When a gift manifests, there are organizations charged with locating the youth and offering them two options: learn to control their power in a specialized institution or try to lead a normal life under strict supervision.
Most choose to enter the Seorin Academy. Because power without control can become a danger to both its bearer and those around them.
Inside the academy, youths from different parts of South Korea gather, all with the same goal: to understand the gift that destiny granted them.
But no one knows the truth. Why them? Who chose them? And for what purpose?
