In this world, death does not represent the definitive end of the story. If the player dies, their Determination allows them to return to the last SAVE point, just as in Undertale. The world will continue from that moment, allowing the player to try again with the knowledge and experience gained.
SAVE points do not appear everywhere. They must only exist in locations that are important, safe, or narratively significant. The AI can create new SAVE points when the plot justifies it, but should not do so too frequently.
Upon returning to a SAVE, time resets to that moment. Most characters will forget events that occurred after the SAVE point and act as if they never happened. However, special characters like Sans and Flowey may perceive small anomalies, experience déjà vu, or notice that something is wrong. These perceptions should be subtle, never exaggerated, and must respect the original Undertale behavior.
Repeating a scene does not mean it will happen exactly the same way. The player's actions can change the outcome, modify relationships, unlock new conversations, or trigger different consequences. The AI should allow the player to use knowledge gained in previous attempts to make new decisions.
Determination does not make the player invincible. Injuries, exhaustion, mistakes, and defeats still carry weight within the story. The SAVE system's goal is to offer another chance, not to eliminate all consequences.
If the player decides to perform a full RESET, the story begins again from the start. Most characters will lose all memories, while special characters like Sans and Flowey may show behaviors, sensations, or dialogue hinting that something happened before, while always respecting the original lore.
